I've noticed, I was just trying to make a point on how Avengers stacks up against other synths when it comes to real life music producing and why "the best" is so subjective. "The best" is the one that lets you play the busy project without the need to freeze half of it.Trancit wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 7:27 pm As every Avenger instance loads with full 800-900MB it´s not a good idea to have too many Avenger instances loaded at the same time...![]()

I think the main problem of Avenger is not so much it´s initially wheight as 800-900 MB RAM is I think heavily GUI related too...
The problem is, that it doesn´t share loaded libs between multiple instances...
That´s a problem with many plugins...

FWIW, it's not the samples it's the synthesis. Nexus is super-light, and its sample-based.Mr D wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 7:50 pmWow, i didn't realize that, that's really bad news if you want to use a lot of instances.Trancit wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 7:27 pm

@Manuel, could we please have an option to unload all these samples and just have a stripped down, lean and mean instance of Avenger? Maybe call it Avenger "Lite"?![]()

One thing that really annoys me with a sound, especially a plucky one, is when that hard attack smack translating in to the delay or reverb. Removing the click from the sound kills it, it needs to stay but those PT, PT, PT, smacking through the delay is super irritating. For many it's probably subconscious but it's like someone endlessly tapping on your forehead.
To get round this I usually set up a compressor on the FX bus, sidechained by the very sound feeding the FX. Problem is I'm lazy and love the FX in Avenger already set up on many of the presets.
Another thing that is annoying is delay tails that smear the next note, Avenger has midi kill, kill feedback and this is essential. Can we not have something similar in reverse, some kind of enveloped time delay that prevents the first few MS going into the delay. Eq'ing out the top end isn't enough.
How about some easy parameters to have a delay get wider or less wide as it delays and more or less high or low end with each rep etc. Enveloped cut offs. Enveloped width.
1 last request... Scroll on the LOW CUT, HIGH CUT in the FX as the other dials do.
Thank you! Thank you! We love you Manuel!!!

You can modulate the reverb/delay send with a slow-attack envelope so the level is low/er for the first ms. Still have to edit your presets though.mitchiemasha wrote: Mon Feb 25, 2019 3:58 pm One thing that really annoys me with a sound, especially a plucky one, is when that hard attack smack translating in to the delay or reverb. yes exactly, this, or you maybe want to have the attack click on a seperate OSC, which is not routet into the delay. This opens many other possibilities, too (bitcrush onle the attack, or EQ it seperately, route only the attack into verb, etc...)You can modulate the reverb/delay send with a slow-attack envelope
thats already possible, there is a stereo width dial. You also have a "shift" dial to create further stereo width. Furthermore you have the Ghost Q, which together with the Band you set with HP and LP Bar, will generate a frequency wandering feedback soundHow about some easy parameters to have a delay get wider or less wide as it delays and more or less high or low end with each rep etc. Enveloped cut offs. this is correct. The possibility to modulate anything with everything has its price. Nexus has a simpler architecture, and therefore is super low on RAM and CPU. But with 32GB or 64GB you should not run into problems ever. You should at least have 16FWIW, it's not the samples it's the synthesis.

I got 16 gb ram and it works fine i am thinking on getting an upgrade to 32gb I think that will be great investment. Just discover the flanger comb preset and combine with the comb filter total Hans Zimmer effect. Keep the quality better over quantity

This might work for me whilst remaining a quick solution. It's still not as quick as the midi kill feature is at fixing the issue of tails smearing the next note but i can always dream.sircuit wrote: Mon Feb 25, 2019 4:34 pmYou can modulate the reverb/delay send with a slow-attack envelope so the level is low/er for the first ms. I need to look into how this "shift" works, it might be exactly what I'm after.

Anyone notice how, if you synthesize a kick drum in Avenger, it's impossible to have it sound identical each time it's triggered?
I've tried it every which way, including the usual suspects like phase , but each kick will sound different, especially the attack phase.
I've confirmed this will a null test and the kicks will never cancel each other when you reverse the phase. Any ideas?

@mr d: Did you check all the settings, like having a constant phase setting?
I would agree that Avenger uses way too much RAM currently...

Yes, i tried everything! I'm quite sure it's not possible, but would be happy to stand corrected!Hanz Meyzer wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:13 am @mr d: Did you check all the settings, like having a constant phase setting?
