Only if the place to put the key is at the same place on every door. Otherwise you suffer from something far, far worse than OCD.Aloysius wrote: Mon Feb 25, 2019 10:32 pm I always place my keys in the exact same place in the door when I want to open it. Does that count?
Hm... that reminds me of the woman who lives near my aunt, who i helped once, who suffered from dementia, and didn't get the key into her keyhole. When i tried, i realized that she was trying to open the door with a key ring with no key attached... horrible disease.

It makes me more technically focussed on details, instead of the bigger picture.
But mine is mild.
Inositol is worth trying!

I don't have OCD, but my brain is like a friggen computer. I exhibit a lot of the habits
listed here, but they are based on logic rather than habit. I don't have to put my keys
in the same spot, because I am always acutely aware of exactly where they are and when
I placed them there. It would be the same if I happened to observe someone else put their keys
down somewhere. Stuff like that...

I have Bombadildovurt disorder. A mix of ocd and Adhd with a pinch of salt and a grain of truth.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

OCD is a disease and not everyone who thinks s/he has one actually has.

It is a horrible disease and unfortunately not understood by people who don't have it. I think it should be totally legal to kick someone in the nuts after hearing them tell you "You can't have OCD, you're nothing like that Monk character"
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

what would justify it?
when we where kids it was "knocking your chippy tea out of your hands"

very ocd here, on and off. prime suggestion for me is, minimize plugins to absolute necessity and learn to love them. take care of them like children.
i started diametrically opposed in 2004, using all kinds of free tools for whatever in heavenlike obliviousness, only acquiring the ocd in digital form over stages and years. it creates a particularily toxic predicament.
having fun with exotic plugins, but end up cutting them down to bare necessity due to OCD automatisms, basically. repeat ad nauseum, over years.
the radical decision is always, f**k the options, i'll navigate through it, but if you keep going through repetitions with choice dilemma, just a couple of plugins and ditching many you like for whatever reason seems the clearest option.
just sampletank 2 xl, for example, is enough to make wholesome music.
going back to 2004, one thing which originally inspired me to make music with deliberately limited tools was this video by squarepusher:
but it also co-spawned an idea of minimalism that was somehow hurtful in the whole ordeal; it's a chicken egg thing. i like innocently playing with lots of stupid little plugins, but the choice conundrum later on f**ked that mindset for me;
all i can say is, once you get nausea from arbitrary choice it's probably connected to some deeper trauma you can't make out at the moment and it's best to not pay much attention to that, if you can;
all in all, OCD and sequencers are still a big mystery to me! you're definitely gonna resort to the 1 synth/sampler strategy sooner or later. it's a great strategy, for sure
but overcoming the OCD that lead you there is just as worthy! it's battling choices and duality
