As already mentioned a few times: Arcade Fire's Funeral for me, at least when it comes to indie rock post-2000. Still disappointed by the following albums, especially after The Suburbs.

tubular bells by mike oldfield is one of the absolute debut genius strikes. i mentioned him in the wtf-album-thread before, and it has to be said, if just for balance; one of the best albums ever, raw, imperfect, genius musicality by an 18 year old. unparalleled, no less by himself...
