Can't believe she was on American Idol, she's too good (and came third, disgraceful! Shows how little taste they have)

I just listened to it on YouTube and I can say with complete certainty that I had never heard it before in my life (and I hope never to hear it again). I can't believe it got to no. 12 in the charts here. Must have been huge in Melbourne or something. In their entire existence, Fleetwood Mac only ever had one Top 10 hit in Australia - Tusk. Their albums always did very well but their singles were never as popular.thecontrolcentre wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 8:59 pmReally? Have you never heard Albatross? It was a massive world wide hit in the late 60s. Sadly Peter's not home much these days as he died in 2000 (iirc). I was lucky enough to see him on his last tour. A real genius.
It was only when I discovered that Someone's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In was a Fleetwood Mac cover, many years after buying the Rezillos album, that I found out that Fleetwood Mac had existed prior to Stevie Nicks (and that they weren't actually an American band).

Cowboy Junkies version of Sweet Jane. Lou Reed said their version was his favourite.
The Reels version of Bad Moon Rising. I think this slow version creates an ominous atmosphere that actually suits the lyrics better than the original.

Im rather fond of Rasputina's version.
Then back to the larger topic; although the original is a worthy classic I do like this version
And almost all of Kicking Against the Pricks is at least equally as good as the original.

Not about to start a thread for "Cover versions I like just as much as the original version, but for different reasons", so I'll just leave these here
