Stop buying music stuff? Are you ready? Am I?

Thinking about it some more, it's not really that I don't want to keep buying plugins,
it's more that I am no longer overly willing to spend more than $30 on a plugin.
Perhaps its a consequence of the fact that I've spared no expense in building
my studio on the digital side of things. If it's highly regarded and worthwhile,
very likely I have it (probably all of it's sister products as well).

Of course, maybe I'm just getting old and miserly. :scared:

Probably not as I just received a quote on one of these :D :

I'm not ready, probably never will. The more I make music, the more I can identify new very specific needs for this or that synth, effect, production tool. I highly respect those who can do more with few/lass. Otoh, to make music, I need a kind of reduced, pocket size 'regular big recording studio'. So I think it's not total random if big studios have tons of gear to adress different artists needs. I have less needs, as I'm not working for tons of different people, but I still need an average quantity. Then, I'm interested in some new synths possibilities, I've always been. Opposite to some people, I dont own a gazillion synths, but admitedly, I have more than the lambda user : Point is : I use them all, I know them all, I love them all. And from time to time, I'll add one, while at the same time barely never removing another.

i think theres a huge difference between buying stuff because you know it will add to or make the process of making music more fluid/fun
and
buying stuff because it's there and you can afford it. which i think is more easily done with software, because you cant see it taking up space. so it's easy to just grab a new amp sim or 5
aside from the cost with hardware, you gotta find space for those amps!
plus if you're in a relationship, its easier to hide 20 new synths in software than get one new pack of strings in the house :hihi:

You could buy one new string per week. Within a month you could have your banjo in tip top condition and she'd never know. In fact, nobody would notice the difference.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

sadly, my banjo requires more than strings to be anywhere near tip top condition.
id need a new neck for a start.
and then all the other bits that go in to making a banjo.
and someone to put it together.
tbh, id probably be just as well buying a banjo.
not that i want a banjo

Why brag about it then, Not-that-old hag?

Anyway: In KVR years you are "old" and that adds at least 20 years to your mental age. Next stop dementia or worse.

I wouldn't mind having a nice banjo, not enough to pay the cost for a good one though.
I do have some hillbilly type cousins somewhere in Idaho, to the best of my knowledge
the don't intermarry or do strange things to people in the woods. Mostly, they like to
kill and eat animals that most people wouldn't consider animals you would want to kill
and eat.
