That being said.... I love my new axe. Wish I bought it in the 80's
Stop buying music stuff? Are you ready? Am I?

Never got along with them, and never played a really good one. I had one with P90s, solid mahogany. Sound was great, but couldn't get the action where I wanted it, even after a re-fret.
I do have an SG Classic, though. P90 goodness.

It was a $250 Norman, back in 1979. The shop wasn't in the charity business.

79 was a really bad year for me as well.
In two weeks, my mother died, I got busted for pot. I lost my job and my father kicked me out of the house.

79 rather sucked for me as well, I found I was truly on my own then. My mother was really sick, my sister took over her apartment, my father wouldn't pay for anything. I had to go stay with someone who had a crush on me and paint houses for a while with her. Brutal. Then I had to borrow money from the gubmint to go to school and work for $4 an hour there.
But, I established that quality of independence in a hurry. Later my father told the gumment I had fled to Mexico, he has no idea where I am.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
