I don't think I've seen it go on sale but I'd love for it to so I can pick it up. I've put it in my cart a bunch of times over the past couple years, but I don't end up buying it even though I loved the demo. I guess it's the price; while certainly not expensive, I always end up scoffing at the $66 pricetag and end up moving on. So anyway, yes a sale would be welcome! But I won't hold my breath.
Do you want to hear Sonic Charge's Permut8? It's here!

seems to be but I can't really justify that much - I see that it goes secondhand sometimes so I will wait for that

If you think it’s expensive at $66 then you’re not taking advantage of the firmwares. It’s one of my favorite delays, and I’ve spent more on a delay and it can do so much more than a delay. The spectral firmware has some amazing Reverbs for instance.

Permut8 isn't a single effect, it's extensible due to the firmwares....easy to overlook.

And not to mention the great MIDI implementation.

I didn't say it was too expensive / not worth the money. I said I couldn't justify spending that muchperpetual3 wrote: Thu Dec 06, 2018 12:30 pm If you think it’s expensive at $66 then you’re not taking advantage of the firmwares. Permut8 meets Bitwigs modulation system.
https://soundcloud.com/user-841453413/bitcrrsussh
This track starts out with Tal-Sampler playing back a Midi drum loop using Bitword Oxide Sounds. I then loaded up one instance of Permut8 and used multiple Bitwigs Step modulators to change stuff on Permut8.
The Permut8 Wet knob is Daw automated to go from nothing to 100% which you'll hear at the end of the track.
Presswerk was used as the Master limiter. A bit of ValhallaVintageVerb was used as well.

Permut8 being used on a simple 4 on the floor drum pattern while live tweaking.
https://soundcloud.com/user-841453413/permut8triplets
It's great for this kind of stuff, but if you automate this stuff it's even better. I might have to make another free preset pack just for mangling triplet 4 on the floor patterns.

second- totally agree on your point on automation: that is the secret weapon to this secret weapon. And theyve made it way too easy: just pull in your bank of choice, set the "midi control" at the top of the GUI to "prog" and send a MIDI track to that instance of Permut8
that "trick" alone puts Permut8 in the same category as Stutter Edit or any number of Sugar-Bytes tools ;]

I have other sonic manglers, but I keep coming back to Permut8. There is definitely something cool about it that I can't even recreate in other manglers like Byome.
It's one of those plugins that I'd have to say is pretty much a keeper that people will probably be talking about for many years.
I'd love to see a hardware version with actual analog filters etc. I'd buy two.
