Why are people who have never designed anything trying to school someone who has already designed several plugin interfaces that have been quite popular and highly functional over the years ?
It's like if I went and tried to tell the people who make Lamborghinis; ya know, it's just too low to the ground and it's tough get seated in that thing...etc.. :hihi:

@Teksonik

Your only replies here have been ad hominems.
Just let the adults talk.

And we know very well what we are talking about ( both Bones and me).

Just go lick someone's boots.

TBH, in this business, i don't think that's much of an argument. There's plugins from very popular and famous companies whose GUI's are absolutely horrible.

Not that i find the Hive GUI horrible. The version 1 one wasn't so great though. And, no, i never created a skin or a GUI for a synthesizer as well. Does that mean that my judgment is completely incompetent? I think i used enough software in my life to be able to distinguish between a good, clear and usable GUI, and a unusable one. GUI design is an art, only perfected by really skilled people.

Awww what's the matter sweetheart did you get triggered ? Go to your safe place and get a hug

Ok Mister "I know what I'm talking about" design a better GUI for Hive.

Can't do it ? Then sit down and shut up bitch.

That's my point....what is the argument ?

They know better than the guy who has been doing is successfully for years ?

Ok then prove it....or shut up.

I've used BONES' GUI's many times over the years so I know he has talent. The whiny little bitches who just like to complain haven't proven anything other than they are whiny little bitches.

As i mentioned, "They are professionals and you not" is a non-argument. ;) An experienced user can of course distinguish between a usable GUI and non usable one. Just like he can distinguish between a shitty and a great sounding synth, and doesn't have to study DSP to do so.

You mean people who talk smack and can't back it up like this.......
Stefken wrote: Sat Mar 09, 2019 12:45 am You think i'm going to write a book here and show all the rules that have been broken when they can't even follow some simple gestalt rules? Hell no.
Buy some UI design books, learn the rules and get some experience. Then we'll talk.
Again make a mockup GUI for Hive to show you know what you're talking about. Otherwise you're just talking smack.

Bones has already proven he has the GUI talent so he gets to talk. You haven't so you don't........

Certainly we can have our opinions but when someone starts acting like they know better than someone who is already doing it then they need to prove it....or shut up.

Talk is easy.....backing it up not so much.

You know how pinball machines have those two paddles to flick the ball back up? Why don't synths have paddles like that? They're like levers or door handles - fixed at one end and the rest moves. Why do synths always have buttons or knobs but never levers?

Let me make an analogy....Say I am trying to tell Joe Bonamassa how the play the blues, he's not doing it right, doesn't know what he's doing etc. Someone then says "let's hear how you play the Blues.

At that point I better damn well be able to play the blues better than Joe or I should just sit down and shut up or I am making myself look like a fool.

Like I said talk is cheap......

Now we are talking! And in certain patch configurations you can trigger a multiball.
