When someone specifically says Hey This is a CRAAAAAAAAZY RUMOR, that means its most likely not true and should be taken as not true even if posted by someone that has a bit of clout in the industry. I had to talk to one company head that personally thought I had taken it too far -- I had to give him admin rights to my forum to see the post in its original context (because we have been transitioning to InvisionBoards over the last few days) and he looked at it and stated...well...I'm not going to say what he stated as it wasn't polite, but summed up, he claimed that it was asinine that anyone could have misread what I had said.
That was the most pleasant conversation...the others were from lawyers...probably because I am known in some parts of the industry -- though I try to keep my forum life and my business life as far apart as they can be from each other -- and if I'm working on a project with anyone, I won't even comment on it until a few weeks after its in the hands of others. I don't put out rumors -- and this is one of the reasons we are kinda jerks about rumors on Sonik -- rumors mean nothing to anyone, and knowing insider info won't get you into the finest clubs any faster (well there was that year I blackmailed a friend into taking me to the VMAs
But no, I'm setting the record straight because this has caused me some problems and I thought I was implicit in the second 'confirmation' post -- that happened only a few hours later -- that it was a wackjob of a post and not intended to be taken seriously. I'm sorry if I caused you any worries, and I don't know if English is your first language -- this causes problems in the web occasionally -- but it has caused me more. I'm sorry that it caused a 5 page post over here and I'm sorry to the guys at Microsoft, Apple, Emagic and Sony whom have mostly said while it wasn't clever, reading though my original statements, its obvious that it was a joke.
Take my statements with a grain of salt? This is the internet, man. If you take ANYONE at face value, you are going to get smacked down by someone -- though it looks like I was the one smacked down over the last two days...
