That was awesome.
Have you ever played around with Triple cheese by u he?
The first TC OSC years back is incredible. If you get the time go back and download the bunch and put them on shuffle. Great sounds.
That thing is full of cool oops moments

Maybe I’ll try to make a song again. I feel like either Synth1, Dexed, Blooo, MonoFury, or some other synth. Definitely want to go with an analog style one this time. So maybe not Dexed.

Yes, do it. You can do a some great music with even the most basic analog style synth.

Don't forget OB-Xd!
Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

I've come down on the Synth1 camp!

I decided to finish the LindyHop track … coming on OK, need better kick and strummed/picked guitar, but getting there … might stick a WIP on slack ...

Hi Everyone,

Here is my submission for this month OSC (revised the earlier one). Previous version sounded not so good when I had relistend, hence had to replace that one with this. I have not used any percussive elements in this track (i just could not able to design a convincing one). Thanks for the listen. Cheers :tu:

For strummed guitar, I’d recommend using FM or sync. I’ve gotten some nice guitar tones with those.
For the kick a low triangle wave with a pitch envelope should be nice.

I’m going to try Synth1 or Dexed or some other plugin in a cheesy big band style or gamelan/keroncong style with some synthy twists. Probably will do a keroncong or elevator music style track at most.

Edit: hopping on the Dexed bandwagon.

@TheNeverScene @Taron @doctorbob @Music Bird - coincidentally I'm on the guitar train too this round :D although more like a hybrid EP/clavinet/guitar thing (since I'm too lazy to work out realistic 6-string fingering). I agree with Music Bird - main reason I think FM is a good choice is it can smoothly fade down to a sine wave at low velocity (too bad Synth1 can't scale FM with vel).

This is an FM8 test, key-split into low/mid/high instances with slightly differing tones/envelope - plus a bit of unison which seems to make it sound more organic rather than "multiple"? No clue why. The best trick I have is to use a bassy unpitched "thump" layer on each attack/release.

Karplus is strong this month, funny that alot of us had the same ideas.
Massive's noise into comb filter, easy guitar-ish sound.

Everyone loving the guitar sounds! Interesting. I did a couple of tests las night making drum sounds in various synths. but all of this talk has me inspired to make some 'real instrument' type sounds!

I don't think there was a consensus on using hardware synths, so I I'll use this opportunity to try and make my first full track purely on my Analog Four. I'm prepared to shoot a video and upload song dumps from the A4 if there's something that needs proving, hopefully it'll be fine! :D

@Rellik Wowzers! Sounds like some Pat Metheny or something. I keep "picking" at a realistic guitar sound, but I haven't gotten there yet. "Gonna make a guitar, ohhh sounds like a piano.....Gonna make a guitar, oooh almost trumpet like"....etc etc lol

Well, when you finally get the guitar, you will already have designed an entire orhestra around it, so its not so bad i guess :D

I think I’m going to do a track with Synth1. This time in the piano roll with quantization. Going to try to do a keroncong track since it wouldn’t require drums which are hard for me to program. Would like to try a track with either Synth1 or one of the Full Bucket synths. Synth1 is very capable, as are Kern, Ragnarok, and the FB-3x00 series.
