I'm right there with you, it was the maturity of the Reaper community and active developers that drew me to it. Once you get familiar with Reaper, you can't imagine going back to expensive bloatware DAWS and greedy schemes.DavidCarlyon wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2019 6:27 pmPsuper wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:59 pmAbsolutely. If anything the community frowns upon people who criticize constructive negative feedback - it's like everyone actually wants Reaper to succeed or something... whodathunk.DavidCarlyon wrote: Sun Mar 10, 2019 11:24 pm Yes! Absolutely! That guy has doe a great job of breaking things down. Wish i had found that a week ago.
It is a really great community though. Never seen a DAW forum where people are so helpful...ever.
Same goes with the company - their whole model is really admirable. It just makes you want to be a part of it. I really hope i can make it work with reaper. My search for the right modern DAW as been long and tiresome.
yeah i am actually finding it quite inspiring. I just really want to find a permanent DAW home at the moment. I have been through so damn many in recent years. This one, although it felt like a bit of a nightmare at first, feels like one can make it act like an extension of oneself.
And they keep moving fast, updates all the time etc.
There is also a lot of room to grow with this DAW.
I see reason is in your tagline - is that your main DAW?
Propellerheads, Reason and I have a very, very long history. Suffice to say I've always wanted it to be my primary DAW and have done everything humanly possible to make it so, however it's back to being a rewired device, and being utilized less and less. I love Reason, always have, and constructed hundreds of constructive posts over our 14 year stint. However my sum today would be that Reason would be better served in the hands of other capable developers who genuinely care about, and put first, the community, the RE devs, and the future of Reason.
Regardless, I'm not an emotionally tied kind of person like most -- I use what makes sense for me. Brand loyalty comes from the top down to me, not from me up to the top.
