Tried one more time after 2 weeks of silence. Still nothing.
I've been patient enough, I can now say Audio Damage support sucks. At least in my book, 2 weeks without any answer to your customers is not what a call good, really not happy to hear nothing from them. I'm not expecting an instant fix for the issue, I could even wait a few versions to have it fixed but man at least a quick feedback or something. Last product I get from them.

Pretty sure they have a small team, and they just released a new plug in (Enso). Not trying to make excuses for them, just trying to give you a picture of what you're dealing with. I've gotten responses from them in the past, so my guess is they have just been busy with the new release.Neon Breath wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 7:35 pm Tried one more time after 2 weeks of silence. Yeah yeah I'm totally aware of that and I understand. They don't have only my email to take care of. But a reply ''Sorry we're very busy and submerged at the moment, we'll get back to you soon'' takes 1 min to send, especially nowadays with instant access to emails via computers, cellphones, tablets, etc. A total silence shows really well how they see the customers who bought their plugins once the money is in. I really like Quanta, great synth but I've never really liked the overall vibe from Audio Damage in general, now I know why.rbx11 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 4:52 amPretty sure they have a small team, and they just released a new plug in (Enso). Yep they should be careful with their support, especially when they keep releasing new products. Ignoring emails from their customers when they report major bugs and crashes is not the best way to maintain a solid reputation and therefore gain new customers...

I stopped using Quanta. It crashed Live 9 many times. I upgraded it to 1.14 and works now as expected, but there are other things. LFOs not working as expected, weak filters...
It's the only granular synth I've got (not sure to consider Form a granular), but I don't trust it.

In Matrix view, if you click on a modulation target (ie a control), the view will scroll to that target.

Chris uploads pretty actively to Instagram. If enough people comment on those uploads to raise visibility of issues it will hurt their marketing efforts NOT to start helping people.
I'm hesitant to support the company because of their sell it and forget it practices so just an idea - I dont like the thought if harassing companies on social media but it's your clientele you are neglecting at the end of the day, dont they owe it to you to at least say "we dont have time to fix these issues any time soon"

I think there might be a small error in the manual: MIDI C4 appears to me to be the center frequency of the oscillators, not C3.
If I load a sample consisting of a pure sine wave, 1 grain, 1000 length, MIDI C4 input at 100% modulation of the OSC, I get:
There's an additional aspect to this set up in the Default preset, I believe. There, both the "straight" and grain oscillators are set to be modulated 100% by the incoming MIDI note info. If you have a preset based on the Default where the "straight" OSC is being fed into the Grain, you get some odd tuning behavior. The MIDI note "tunes" the OSC, then the OSC get "tuned" again by the Grain OSC. If your pitches range through the center frequency, the Grain OSC will range from pitched below to pitched above the straight OSC. Like so:
Finally, and I'm not trying to change any minds here, the Audiodamage Twitter account has been pretty good at describing the hell they've been in with a prolonged Enso iOS approval from Apple. Having been witness to a few of these in the past, I'm not surprised that they haven't responded to email. If I had any spare time under the circumstances, I'd be trying to forget I did software development.
This brings up another aspect of Audiodamage's recent software efforts, important to those running them outside the iOS forest. Given Quanta is cross-platform across desktop and iPad, I doubt we'll see a lot of features that burden the lighter weight platform. So, I'm not holding my breath for things like Diva-quality filters is some future update.

Code: Select all
MIDI Samp OSC
Key Freq Out
---------------------
C4 C4 C4
C4 C3 C3
C4 E1 E1
Code: Select all
MIDI OSC-> OSC
Key Grain Alone
---------------------
C5 C6 C5
C4 C4 C4
C3 C2 C3

Crap! Getting a ton of crashes now with Quanta. Started mainly with more complex patches. In fact it knocks out audio completely in FL Studio, for other vsts as well, and I have to restart FL Studio.
It's a shame, because I like what's there in Quanta, and was enjoying it.

1.0.14
Like I say, it was working fine until I started more complex patches. Hard to say what the problem is because I was working on a number of patches.
