New good stuff in 1.1:
1. High quality tuner with a big screen.
2. Standalone version of SS-11X - no DAW required! Sadly, no presets available in standalone.
3. Input/output level and clipping indication.
4. Presets from Ola Englund.
5. Cabinet IRs from Leon Todd.
6. Visual improvements.
7. Preset bug fixed (at least for me)
Yaaaaaay!
Glad it's working for your now!
The fix has not been confirmed, so it's not in the official release notes :)

This is the greatest f**king tuner. This update is a very cool upgrade; thanks so much! You guys also did a great thing by partnering with TA Production; I love their IRs.

I have two questions for you:

Assigning MIDI to control SS-11X, there is a fade in when switching either between, e.g., crunch and drive on the SS-11X itself or between SS-11X and another VST, like Spark, e.g. Is there any work around to avoid this for live use, so that the tones would switch seamlessly? I'm using Reaper on Windows 10, both with the latest updates.

Secondly, outside of the 800s and Harlequin, do you guys have any plans to make any of your other Amp One models available as VSTs? I'd love to hear your take on the 5150III as well as your Kranks! If you still have access to these amps, they are all very cool ideas to run through your current neural network modeling.

Thanks!

Preset bug (Mac VST, Live 10) fixed here also.
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Hi. I've been demoing the SS-11X and I'm encountering an issue with the convolution engines. I'm getting alias-like artifacts that are very obvious in the sound and not filtered by the cabinet rolloff. Please see the video. Unfortunately the sound did not record.

Hey!

Glad you are digging the update!

1. Fade-in stuff - need to ask devs. Will get back with more info!
2. No comments on new products, sorry =)

Hi!

Thanks a lot for your post!
I've passed it on to devs. Here is what they answered (hope it makes sense, I am translating from Russian):
We were not able to reproduce the same high level of artifacts, as in your video.
Please try to eliminate clipping on the Voxengo input, to make sure it does not affect the sound.

At the end of the video we can see that the artifacts increase after using the Voxengo filter, this is definitely not the convolution engine issue.

Artifacts do exist there, yes, but on the level of -90...-95dB in relation to the main signal.
The reason is that it works with a single precision floating point. It allows to lessen the CPU load with long IRs. We decided it's an optimal solution at the moment.

Here are some videos from devs:

Thanks for the response. Here's another video using a simple guitar recording. The video shows that the artifacts are being added by the convolution stage and they are audible to me straight out of the plugin. The reverb engine adds the artifacts as well, but they are not as easily perceived. I've never seen a cab sim do this before.

I didn't know what you meant by this earlier. I thought you were referring to Voxengo Span, which does not affect the sound in any way. The filter is by FabFilter and, yes, the artifacts increase because I applied a 36 dB boost to make them more visible in the video.

I'm posting another video because I'd really like to be able to use your plugins. As is, I can hear the "aliasing" clearly.

This video shows that with identical settings ReAxis has the same problem, while Spark does not.

I also found issues with the impulses themselves in SS-11X, but I will post about that when I have more time to gather evidence to present to you.

Hey!

Thank you for the videos and comments - forwarded those to our devs to look at.

Regarding impulses - possibly, you want to comment on Morton's set of impulses? =)

If fixing this convolution issue will lead to higher CPU or shorter truncated IRs, then please make it optional. I can't use other ampsims realtime with this level of sound quality (full oversampling, full IRs) without glitches. If the price to pay is those -90db artifacts then I'm totally fine with it.

Since they're on sale and I'm on vacation...SS-11X vs U530. What would sit better in a high gain black metal mix? SS-11X looks cool and it's newer...

Something I'd like for a tone would be Satanic Warmaster - Funeral Wolves. Still sort of trebly and fizzy but not quite Nattens Madrigal.

It's harder than it sounds to record something with fizz, bite and make it somewhat coherent.

Great job on this, it sounds just fantastic.

Living Tube tech! Ha!

Yeah - I'm looking forward to this!
I'm going to buy the really expensive tubes, so they don't go bad so often ;)

to be honest, at first i thought this was actually a nice idea. you know, an ampsim subtly changing its sound over time due to "aging" (aka how much you play it). buying virtual replacement tubes is of course out of the question, but it would have been cool to have "aging" in the amp sim :)
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.
