Where Have All The FLowners Gone?

Post

There have not been many posts here recently about FL Studio.

Honestly, I am curious as to why? FL 20 that stable? Bashers get bored (probably yelling at kids on the lawn) ? People actually creating music with it?

I use it almost daily as a hobby and I have been quite impressed with 20.

I think most users of other DAW's here are just more content in using software that is known to have far less issues currently.

I've owned it since forever. I even bought "fire" to control it. Sold it, still not into FL.

Nothing against it, it's a very good program but it's not for me.

I'm a happy FL studio owner, and is quite stable for me, it seems that many people hate the generosity of Image Line Free updates for life, Versatility and Possibilities.

I'm not saying this as someone trying to get in to a "my daw is better" discussion; everyone should be happy with what they have. But so many people try to talk too negatively about FL studio, gol is not there anymore (if that is the reason for the bashing?), and FL is adding progressively more awesome advanced stuffs, is an all around daw.

Perhaps the best invested money and only once for all future features.

I was a diehard FLowner (version 6 to 12), but somehow got tired of it and switched to Live 10. Lately I've seen many people doing this for whatever reason.

I use it fairly often as I like the pattern workflow, generally I will move a project out finish things up.
Although, I havent messed with the inline recording as yet, so that may change, probably not though.
FL Studio does some things really well, the rest of it, no so much.

Free upgrades. I live in Yorkshire and we don't like paying for owt.

Sorry but that´s nonsense...
There is not a single piece of software out there, which doesn´t get more bug reports over time...
The reason for the huge number is simply the age of IL... in more than 20 years, there are more than i.e. in Bitwigs 4 years...

Second: More than the half of them are user errors respectively things which are intended to be this way where the OP thought it otherway round...

Third: If you got the most users of all DAWs out there it´s normal that technical support need raises too...
I don´t know any numbers but e.g. 20.000 users of FLS doing naturally more post than 7.000 users of DAW XYZ...

FLS is not perfect but as stable as any other DAW out there... I personally didn´t had a single crash since years as I didn´t had with Reaper or don´t have now with Bitwig

Still a heavy fl studio user but it sucks ass for stability and performance even in the latest Version.
This daw sucks my Motivation a lot but i couldnt get into piano roll of studio one of bitwig yet....

Image line should implement a crash and recovery protection but no they add more shit just ro keep up. It sucks and their support got worse sknd some left. You wait now some days sometimes to get support and they cannot help you much but you have to try to recreate the problem but how when finished projects cannot be loaddd or crash. I use many plugins which work and then suddenly bam. No use. In studio one i had so far no issues and in bitwig with crashing and when IT crashed it ceashed when adding a plugin which crashed it and i knew which plugin is the error. In fl studio it is so random and just unprofessional! Since fl 20 it got worse! And il doesng do much sadly on my end.....

Can no one tell me they professionally rely on fl studio especially live gigs...

Happy user of FL Studio 6-11. Got angry when they changed the UI, absolutely hated it. Recently revisited 20.1, looks sweet, might switch back to it. Yes, it has its issues. Yes, working with hardware is pita in comparison with other DAWs. Stability hasn't been a problem for me, even in large projects - most crashes seem to be related to old/weird/badly coded plugins and I have reproduced them in other DAWs too. But it's the fastest to jot down ideas... Wouldn't rely on it for live though.

Remember, it has a built-in bitbridge... you never know what plugins one might try to use in 2019 :dog:

But afaik recovery also sucks and I need auto save feature too. I use ableton but its recovery fails to save specific vst plugin state. So I only trust saved session either way. There may be perfect recovery function in other daw though. I don't know others'.

you got a auto save feature but it doesnt work for me reliable always. + it should always protect you from crashes like studio one, so far i had 2 plugins which crashed when added and i knew these were the plugins, after updating those it worked. in fl studio you can work flawlessly on a project and save and get to bed. next day TADAAAA it doesnt load it or even freezes your pc. pathetic! IL doesnt have any help for this so far and couldnt help either, wtf? and believe me i didnt use old 32bit plugins.....

i have also old projects and then i wouldnt wonder but not with NEW projects and plugins!

Isn't it just because the average age of the average KVR user is no longer 13? The kids are all trading crackz n serialz on social media platforms we old folks haven't even heard of.

It's not just FL; notice the complete lack of "how do I make my 808s sound phat" threads et al, which is basically the new "how 2 mk tarnce?".
