Tone2 Icarus is the most underrated synth in Existence.

Icarus has a mindblowing resynthesis engine. Only supersaw-like sounds are handled poorly and should be resynthesized through IL Harmor instead (just try if you don't believe me!). Of course it should be in this list. It's in my personal top 5.
Please don’t read the above post. It’s a stupid one. Simply pass.

Unfortunately, it's as non-telling as any other plugin ranking... maybe even more non-telling.

I've been toying with the idea of spending the 100 bucks on Voltage Modular - #5 on your list, huh? If you wouldn't mind: What would you say are it's outstanding strengths/weaknesses?wagtunes wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 10:49 pm My Top 20 Synths (In Reverse Order)

It's greatest strength is the workflow. After that, the number of modules already available for it. Of course that comes at a great expense if you get everything. I think I've spent over $600 already.goldenanalog wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 12:16 amI've been toying with the idea of spending the 100 bucks on Voltage Modular - #5 on your list, huh? Weakness I would have to say is that, in comparison to Softube, it doesn't quite have the same sound quality as far as the stock modules. Now, a lot of the 3rd party stuff sounds excellent but the overall engine is, IMO, a step down from Softube. However, it still sounds more than good enough to invest in.
And you'll notice Softube isn't even on my list because the workflow is horrendous. As good as it sounds, I hate working with it. If it had the same workflow as VM, it would be in my top 5 easily.

Tone2 in general seems to have a mindblowing resynthesis engine and they do a poor job of selling this feature because Electra also can do some amazing things, I especially think they have the best vocoder engine possibly even better then Vocal Synth2
