I noticed that S1 4 doesn't recall plugins locations unless I scan each time I start S1.
Is this happening with anyone else?

Nope.
Do you have your plugins in a folder in C:/ProgramFiles, by chance? If so, try starting Studio One as administrator. And consider installing your plugins in another folder.

I have them in various locations which S1 always found until version 4.

It's already set to run as administrator; I double-checked to make sure.
It isn't too big a deal since the startup scan is fairly fast.
It's just a bit of a mystery since many of my locations don't show up without the startup scan.
Thanks for suggestions.

If you have duplicates of plugins, for example in different folders along side Studio One, then they will cancel each other out, and Studio One won't know which folder to load from unless it's specified in the startup process. That's why when you disable the startup scanning that you will find that they are missing. Find the duplicates and remove them, try and look for any duplicate VST's you have and move them to a USB stick for example and delete them from the drive you are using, leaving one instance.
You should also just create one VST 64 Bit folder for the VST's you are using and keeping that in the root directory, as well as a VST DATA folder for the plugins data requirements along side.
When you update Studio One, create separate folders for each installation for them. This way, you'll never need to touch the VST folders that that you have created, and always have a fall back should any update introduce any problems for you.
