Tone2 Icarus is the most underrated synth in Existence.

After playing with dune zebra Icarus serum, I feel like my next purchases are dune and Icarus. I don't find serum and zebra as inspiring for some reason.

Different Folks, different Needs
For me a synth, that does not allow microtuning is not even a complete synth. I am not much interested in Western music anymore and/or equal tuning. Much more I like Indian and other ehtnic music. Therefore a synth should have at least microtuning features such as scala etc. Icarus does not. And I would like to have plugs that have a master tune worth its name, not just cents (microcents would be better).Icarus should add that. Do not exclude millions of people! Btw I own Icarus, Saurus, Rayblaster and Nemesis. Why not make great products better by including microtuning? Well actually it's sabbath, never mind.

There is microtuning in the setup section (see page 80 in the manual).
Maybe not what you are looking for but some options are quite special.
(No expert in microtuning but Icarus does have microtuning features)

Indeed here's the words of the developer.Stefken wrote: Sat Mar 23, 2019 4:58 pm There is microtuning in the setup section (see page 80 in the manual).

"Icarus probably comes with the most advanced microtuning section ..."
Of course he forgot to mention the word canned
Unless I am missing something Scala is out of the question?

They named the synth Icarus because of the sound designers and beta team between different names it seems they choose this one.Nena2 wrote: Sat Mar 23, 2019 7:03 pm They must be idiots naming soehting 'Icarus'. What it actually says is 'hubris'.
By the way your account is quite recent... a little bit strange.

chk071. It wasn't nice of you.
JunSev. What is a little bit strange with a resent account? Are new accounts not allowed? Or do you take it as I was born the day my account was created? Or that I've never been to a forum before?

No, It doesn't have anything to do with any of that, your rights are respected and we are all equal, is just that there are weird behavior with some new comers with suspicious actions, as if something is going on behind these accounts...Nena2 wrote: Sun Mar 24, 2019 12:55 am chk071. With all respect.

love Icarus tooSampleconstruct wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2019 7:39 am Icarus has become my goto wabetable generator/editor, it's quality of resynthesis is outstanding, there are plenty of options to tweak, smoothen and modify the wavetabled results and the exported wavetables can be used in other wavetable synths/players.
I have been working on a new soundset but now that i have some more free time i think i'll work on a (enhanced/better quality then previous one) new Icarus skin.
and yes, as other people mentioned in this thread, not being disrepectfull to anyone else ( I like and use many other synths and still am interested in some i didn't get yet), i love Icarus sound quality and sound mangling and many little tweaks possibilities...
i expect future updates to bring some really nice new extra things and make it fly endlessly around space, moons and planets, nebulas and comets....
(just try to stay away from stars core, well that applies to preety much anything else [except Space agencys enginners] doesn't it
