I just discovered the long lost Brian Wilson masterpiece "Smile" is released on cd.
Anyone else know about this or had the chance to listen to it?
Apologies if this has already been discussed.

I have it mr. Monkey

I got it two days ago, expecting to be REALLY dissapointed. Instead - it's a miracle
It's as fantastic as people who went to the live shows said it would be. I
it. It has that Beach Boys magic that Brian couldn't capture on his own. It's probably the vocals [at last, he has decided to let other people do some backing vocals too] and the heavenly melodies. The 'Wonderful'/'Song For Children'/'Child is The Father of Man'/'Surf's Up' sequence is faultless and 'Heroes and Villains' OMG
What can I say. Just get it

call me crazy, but I love the contrast that he uses in Windchimes
it goes from very mellow xylophones to a huge jazzy build up back to a delicate piano and tehn back to the band again. brilliant production and arrangement

We had another thread on this already, though some were turned off a bit by Brian's aged voice (the guy's in his 60's now) I think it's the perfect follow up to Pet Sounds, and it only took 37 years to get it.
