Sylenth off the bat produces some great instantly usable sounds out there. Highly used by pro's. That tells me more.

No, you're wrong here with all respect. Being a mainstream popular synth is not automatically better or the best you can get, even if you see your favorite EDM artist showing it, don't get me wrong, is maybe a nice synth, I definitely don't needed, but a big community will enjoy it.

Some synths just appears in the right time and had a better marketing and strategy, but mainstream and popular shouldn't be never considered as the best options.

Sylenth1 fell off my vst list years ago when I converted to x64. I just got the upgrade last night and, hoo boy, I forgot how great an instrument this thing is. Amazing sound, amazing presets (and I don't even do EDM) and immediate inspiration. Great update.

I own dozens and dozens of great synths, and Sylenth1 is still up there with the best of them.

I just downloaded the latest version. Gotta say I love this synth and the new skin is awesome. So inspirational.

The new skin looks like it's from 3002, not 2003 as some have said, and it does look great.
The rest of the improvements are very good, and the synth keeps on giving.

I would say it has to be the best sounding VST synth in history, considering the quality of sound, it's low CPU draw and it's tenure. The reverb could be a bit less "ringy" but it is still the perfect synth. LennarDigital has effectively made his mark in VST history with Sylenth1. Not a ton of synths wear that badge.

I wouldn´t call it the one and only but this

is definetely true... I would guess Sylenth is the most mentioned soft synth of all times and I agree even if there are more "advanced" synths out there it still got it´s place after so many years

100% and the funny thing is that I don't use it a ton, but one day I decided to carefully go through the presets and noticed it's one of the few synths you can actually play heavy chord stacks, and it handles them flawlessly and cleanly with very little CPU hit. In most cases, you want to strip away the reverb though. I haven't found any other synth that can perform like Sylenth does in that respect. Well maybe Serum. This is one of the few cases that 8 million people can't be wrong.

You'll also have to keep in mind that people need "the one synth". Like for VA hardware synths, the Virus. And in software, Sylenth1. Again, i think Spire beats it in almost every regard (it has much better fx's too), but, Sylenth1 will still be the one people crave for, at least for certain genres. People need that ONE iconic synth. Just like they need the one superhero in a movie.

Or the one supervillain.

Anyway, it's OK. At least it makes people not crave for hardware every time you talk about soft synths.
