Vertigo Sound VSC-3 Plugin is coming soon, 29 of March. Intro price is 149€ , and regular price 289€.

This will be their second plugin to release in-house(?) after VSE-2. Apparently it will have no vst2, and
"Native AAX, AAX DSP in the near future maybe".

I can't wait to demo this thing. I hope the CPU use is not too high :)

the GUI looks better than Plugin Alliance version, but no.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Full Price €289

Hopefully PA has a sale on VSC-2...

Regular price : $74838383884847465445544455687659865223929292,99 only !!!

As much as I love the VSC-2, I thought this price policy was a Plugin Alliance/Waves joke to make you pull the trigger every time the plugin is "on sale", not a serious price. Do Vertigo really think they'll sell it at this price ?!?! I doubt they'll make crazy sales as often as PA does, of course...

It's a psychology thing - because the hardware probably costs 10,000 Euro, they're like "the plugin is cheap compared to that".

Geez, that price seems high. Sometimes it seems like devs forget about Cytomic The Glue and it's $100 price point.

That said I will definitely try the demo! Maybe they do have something special going on. I usually prefer the action of The Glue (or Weiss DS1; that thing can make for a fantastic bus comp at the usual bus comp settings) to VSC-2, but I do like the bright slight saturation of VSC-2 when it's pushed a little bit.

That's exactly what I was thinking about. Not that I think this is the best compressor ever, but it's a reference and a lot of people love it.

All I keep thinking of when I see the name is this:

But maybe I'm just old. :(

It's out to try...

Yes, it's good, it's excellent as the VSC2 has always been one of my favourite compressors, but to me it appears like a VSC2 with a dry/wet mix knob and a RMS option that sounds less interesting than the classic mode (all the 'bite' is gone). If they offered an upgrade option for the VSC2 owners, I'd take it for sure since I've always wanted a dry/wet mix knob on the VSC2, but I'm afraid it's not worth 149€...

Let alone the regular price of 289€!

Oh. After comparing the VSC2 and the VSC3 side by side with the same settings, my opinion has changed a little. It's not a simple VSC2 with more options. They do not sound the same at all. First, you don't get the same result with the same settings. And then, even if you try to match the sound, you won't be able to : the VSC2 sounds "deeper", somehow more agressive to me, while the VSC3 sounds cleaner, it feels sharp. I think I prefer the VSC2.

I have the UAD version of VSC3. Love the Hi Fi your mix preset.

You’re thinking of VSM.
