They did the same with the EQ. Although, imho it is a very good EQ, likely the compressor
is as well. Though this is certainly a case of the brand name being thought of as making
it worth more.
Anyway, it's their choice. A lot of folks are going to pass on it because of that. I guess
they are fine with that...

I just saw it. Those vintage compressors/eqs snobs truly are in a league of their own. Notice how he says that price = quality.Colonel Flashback wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:51 amYou'd laugh your ass off even more if you'd know what the response of a Vertigo employee to something like that on Gearslutz was...![]()
FTR: for 90 euros more you got Bitwig.

My reference points have become MJUC and DC8C.DJErmac wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 11:46 pmThat's exactly what I was thinking about. Not that I think this is the best compressor ever, but it's a reference and a lot of people love it.rhysaudio wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 11:41 pm Sometimes it seems like devs forget about Cytomic The Glue and it's $100 price point.
Of course i'd be willing to pay a bit more if i found a game changing plugin, but no way above 150 Euros in times you can find truly excellent stuff below 100 Euros, sometimes even with no extra costs at all within your DAW.
I'm curious for how much longer such pharmacy prices (as we call those in Germany) are viable in times like this.
I'd personally only buy from them (or any other company with similar pricings) when sales at 70 Euros or less happen as it's simply become unnecessary to fork out this much for quality.

Vertigo must have hired Chris Randall at the communication department...Colonel Flashback wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:51 amYou'd laugh your ass off even more if you'd know what the response of a Vertigo employee to something like that on Gearslutz was...![]()

Yes, and in case of Reaper and VSC-3 you'd pay even more for one compressor, than a complete DAW. In fact, you could get 5 Reaper licenses for the price of one compressor that might of course very well be totally awesome, but then there is already totally awesome stuff for way less.Point being that this is DAW price territory. WTF are those compressors guys smoking?
Such prices are likely mainly to get regarded as “professional“ or “the real deal“ instead of being labelled as “just another little toy all those average bedroom producers out there who can't afford the serious stuff are using“
Also, those “big boys“ often seem more focused on making nice looking bling bling GUIs for screenshots than actual more usable ones and more often than not even miss some nice features just for the sake of being “totally true to the hardware we're emulating - this time for realz!(tm) (Until our next even more realer painstakingly recreated plugin arrives.“
It's not just PA though, they are in good company there with their big idols at UA and others who of course do awesome stuff too.
As long the market swallows such prices they are even totally right with this.
I personally just think the times for such prices are over, but time will tell
The GAS is always greener on the other side!

Can anyone make sense of this license language ?
So if I upgrade my system more than 3 times I have to pay 29Euro to use the plug ?5.3 The license is limited to the right to install and use the Software on a maximum of three computers belonging to the same company or household of Customer. In the case that due to a hardware defect or the like Customer is no longer be able to use the Software, Customer may acquire a new license key against payment of 29.00 EUR.
If Customer loses or damages the license key, a re-licensing of the Software against full license-fee is normally required. However, Customer may request Mustang Sound GmbH to supply a replacement key by (i) paying the aforementioned fee and (ii) submitting a written declaration in which Customer undertakes to refrain from using the replaced license key under threat of an appropriate contractual penalty, in order to avoid the need to re-license the Software. Acceptance of such declaration is at the sole discretion of Mustang Sound GmbH.

Jeezo :
Also can you clarify the licencing thingy ?
3 computers but can we de authorise one to re authorise another ?
Vertigo Sound :
Re-Licensing you should be able to do that through the licenser, if you have any issues just hit up Customer Support.
