Sytrus is a Great Synth, but...

I think anybody who charges more than $5 for a synth should be forced to watch Brady Bunch reruns until they beg for mercy.

I have no problem paying for synths. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on them.
The point I was trying to make is that, while their synth sounds good, the relative value of that synth is not worth the price in today's market. Hive is the same price, receives regular updates, and has a much nicer GUI. Dune 3 is not much more expensive and is many times more powerful and versatile. Harmor is far more powerful and has been on sale for 1/2 the price or even less.
I think that Sytrus would be a much more popular synth if they would update the GUI and sell it for a lower price -- I think $80-$100 would be a good price point. Just my 2 cents.
who knows why some businesses work the way they do, or how indeed some survive
best to not worry about it, buy the synths that seem like good value to you and let the market push devs to change prices.
not like anyone "needs" another synth![]()

The phrasing I used was a joke. I do not literally think any crime has been committed, although this is clearly some sort of odd sore spot for you.
I do, believe, that if we're talking about potentially overpriced IL synths, then the two I mentioned are much more in that category than Sytrus.

I have bought their other plugins on sale. I have never seen Sytrus on sale.Ranoka wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 9:59 am If you're patient, you can get the Image-Line plugins on sale for 50% periodically during the year. Also the plugins tend to be cheaper to buy from places like JRR shop than from the IL store.

Are they even selling Groove Machine anymore? I don't see it in the store. I agree with Morphine though; no idea why you'd buy that when Harmor is cheaper and way more interesting.jsp1979 wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:39 pm The real crime is what Image Line charges for Groove Machine ($149 and 32-bit only) and Morphine ($159).

Groove Machine is listed in the shop after I log in, but it's not there when I log out. I don't know why that's the case, but I can still purchase it when I log in.Greenstorm33 wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:59 pmAre they even selling Groove Machine anymore? I don't see it in the store. No sore spot, just wondering why people feel so irresponsible and forced to buy these days.

Huh, weird. I'm not logged in so I guess that's why I can't see it.jsp1979 wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 5:05 pmGroove Machine is listed in the shop after I log in, but it's not there when I log out. The plugins are the most neglected aspect of Image-Line. It could be because Gol is semi-retired and and Maxx doesn't seem to be involved in plug ins anymore. I bought the VST version of Sawer a few years ago and the mod matrix is broken. I reported it back then and it still hasn't been fixed. Really a shame.

It is still on Plug In Boutique but it has never been updated to 64-bit. "32bit VST host program only."

Never understood the Price of Morphine...jsp1979 wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:39 pm The real crime is what Image Line charges for Groove Machine ($149 and 32-bit only) and Morphine ($159).
Always seemed odd to be THAT expensive.
Especially when I really don't see it used hardly ever.
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.
