Well, it's finally happening. After much procrastination (primarily because of money) I'm finally pulling the trigger (sometime in April or May) and getting the Warp IV Brass and Woodwinds bundle for $1,299

What I'd like (Jancivil I know you've got to have something to share) are your Warp IV tracks and tips that you'd care to post here. I'm only asking because there is almost nothing online about this library. At Youtube, I found ONE video. There are a few tracks on the site but not a lot.

Anything you can share will be GREATLY appreciated though my gut tells me that there are very few people here besides Jancivil who own this library, which surprises me because it sounds amazing. But after reading the specs, with all those keyswitches, it sounds a little daunting to say the least.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

And no, before anybody asks, there is no demo that you can download first. You take your chances and you buy it or don't. The sound has convinced me to take the plunge. I'd just like any experiences that you can share to give me a hand in wrapping my head around this thing.

jan is not easily impressed ...

voicing and articulation may require you to roll up your sleeves ...

That much I pretty much figured out. Somebody said even with an 88 note keyboard they had to hit the octave button to get to all the articulations for some of the patches. How insane is that?

As far as being impressed, yeah, all you have to do is listen to it. Sounds absolutely real to my ears.

Jan, thanks. I knew I could count on you. Piece is odd to say the least. Sounds like you recorded the brass completely dry, what little there is of it. But, it certainly did sound real.

I get that the keyswitching is going to be pencil tool city. I was expecting this. I'll just have to take my time with these pieces.

However, my bigger concern is this. Not being a horn player, I don't know what each instrument can and can't do realistically. In other words, what keyswitches I can and can't combine. Or is it possible to go from any one articulation to any other? I have heard horn players do some really wild things so I'm guessing that there probably isn't much that isn't possible. Still, I'm not sure.

So, my question is this. Is there any place I can go to learn what is and what isn't possible with each instrument. For example, I know it's possible to go from a trill to a fall off, but is it possible to go from a fall off directly into a trill?

I'm guessing some of this is intuitive based simply on the amount of brass based music I've heard over the years but still, there's always some doubt.

Any suggestions short of picking up one of the instruments and learning how to play it?

Listened. Thanks. Thing is, I hear something in my head when I compose and it sounds "right" to me. But not being a player of that instrument, I can't be sure with 100% certainty that the part I just heard in my head is physically capable of being played. I don't see how there's any way to know that without knowing the instrument inside and out.
