Hey Layer,
Im not at my computer right now, but are your wavetables in WAV format?
In other words can I use them in Serum?

Pitch bend in VST3 is ... work. Until beta 7 it did nothing. Still going on. I found out in early March that lots of the VST3 was simply not implemented in fact! Appreciate patience and bug reports.chk071 wrote: Sun Mar 24, 2019 9:43 pm Dunno if it has been reported yet, but, the pitch bend setting doesn't seem to work. Regardless of what it is set to, it seems to bend only a semi tone up and down. It also affects the pitch of the sound.
VST3 in Studio One 4. The pitch bend in the VST2 works fine.
Can you share how you set it? Is it that the pitch bend modulation source doesn’t bind? (So if you do pitch bend the pitch bends, but if you bind pitch bend to - say - a filter cutoff by double clicking and dragging the purple it doesn’t modulate type thing)? That would be a real bug we should log and fix.

So I’m using a Rise 49 with logic and the Audio Unit to debug and finalize the MPE and in that setup it works correctly. Actually quite nice after the bug fixes we put in beta 7. Another user has also used it with logic / au / linnstrument succesfully (although there’s one bug which required him to use the nightly right after beta 7).zerocrossing wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 5:08 pmI’ll go over it in detail later, but the two things that frustrated me the most were it’s response to velocity from my Rise 49 (not any trouble with other plugins like Synthmaster). It took way too much velocity to get a note to play. The other issue was the way the pitch bend range seemed to be controlling what pitch was being played.
Can you share what setup you are using? The VST3 has a variety of incompletenesses. I did briefly test MPE with mac bitwig vsts but not extensively.

Yeah I’m hoping to find out what on earth is causing this. Can you share anything about your setup? Do you have a lot of surges? Are you running at 44.1 or another sample rate? Are you frequently using any particular feature? I know the question is vague but this is a frequent but impossible to catch in a debugger problem. If I can replicate it in a reliable fashion I can fix it so any thoughts welcome.voidhead23 wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2019 9:50 amSame issue, i believe it's been reported a couple times. i have to delete and re-insert Surge about fifteen times to make it stop doing this. Same behavior in Logic and Live 10 on a Mac, 64 bit. Behavior is usually immediately noticeable, sometimes loud popping on one channel and normal default patch can be heard on the other channel (it swaps channels) and sometimes just a mono pop with no default patch audible...though on Logic it occurred after a couple of minutes of playing.Iu Gob wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 11:41 am Occasionally clicks are heard and also the sound disappears. It happens a few times. Without doing anything. Then peaks of about 14 dB appear. Most of the time it works well. It is solved by reloading the project or reinserting Surge. Surge is for me an important instrument in my current projects. Reaper, VST 2, Windows 7 64Bits. Thank you very much for this great job.

PD: sorry for my bad English.

Sure. So i'm running a 2017 MacBook Pro with Mojave (10.14.3), 2.9 Ghz i7, 16gb RAM, Ableton Live 10.0.5 64 bit at 44.1, with bit depth at 24 bit. This happens immediately after inserting Surge and playing a note, so there's no particular feature of the synth that seems to cause the issue (but as i said, in Logic the problem occurred after a couple minutes of use, which has never happened in Live, but i can't remember what i was doing and rarely open Logic). i haven't been using Surge in my actual music yet so there's only ever one instance of Surge on a blank session just for noodling around and testing the synth. There's a stock EQ after Surge on the channel when i insert it...can't think of anything else to mention...baconpaul wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 1:18 amYeah I’m hoping to find out what on earth is causing this. Windows 7 64 Bits, 44.1 KHz, 24 Bits, one or two Surge VST2 in Reaper 64 Bits.
With this presets it happens sometimes... The Reaper project just loaded. Without any edition...

MPE in Bitwig on Sierra is fine for VST2, VST3 doesn‘t do the pitch bends correctly. Bitwig translates pitchbend into expression. As long a VST3 implementation takes care of expression, the host will take care of Midi. I guess this is also true for Cubase. But beside the Steinberg instruments I didn‘t find much VST3 implementations which are complete, most are just wrapped VST2s...baconpaul wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 1:15 am Can you share what setup you are using? It is incredibly rare that it crashes any more. We got all the segfaults in jan and feb. So it is stable in that it shouldn't take down your DAW (if you use custom wavetables in formats Surge doesn't support properly those can crash you; that's the only segfault bug we have outstanding).Ah_Dziz wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 5:07 pm Is this thing stable? I’m always interested in playing with a new thingy, but not if it’s gonna crash often.
There is still a problem where initialization sometimes causes a loud click and you need to reload the synth. I'm working on that now.

Reading the code, the velocity sent with note off goes through to the synth and gets sent to the voice in the release cycle. I'm honestly not sure how you'd use this in surge easily but haven't played with it or even thought to! Would love to know what you find. The VST2 and AU are better with MPE than the VST3 at this point.Ah_Dziz wrote: Mon Apr 01, 2019 12:18 am Also, does the MPE implementation include release velocity?
