What DAW Do You Hate?

O.k. now i HATE Logic Pro X. Today it does not find my Library on my external SSD (i moved it there some time ago) and it is not freaking possible to just recover it, even if it is all still installed on my extern SSD.
So Logic wants me to download the shit again and then i can move it. WTF!!!!!!!

Yes....not possible. Logic wants me to download it again on my intern HD and then i might move it again. That can´t be right.
I can see my extern SSD when i go to move library but i can´t choose anything there.
That is Apple. Totally useless "feature".

If you can't choose anything, it might be that permissions are not set correctly. Are you logged in as the same user, or did you have any additional rights when you moved it the first time?

If you're comfortable using a terminal, you could check permissions with ls -l and see if there's any issue there.

I did not change anything in any setting since years
Terminal is not for me.....i might brick my mac if i try.
Maybe my mac is going to get crazy. I often have open apps if i turn my mac on, even if i never opened them before i closed my macbook. Must be an April fool....drives me crazy. Maybe some hanging keys, trackpad. It could be that i activated relocate and now it won´t let me choose the library again from my SSD without a new download and install. 75 GB to download again...and no space on my intern SSD.

I used to hate ProTools, but now it pretty much works when I use it, so I actually really like it. The only problem is it doesn't do midi as well as Cubase - (read as there is no chord track). So now I hate Cubase because I spend more time trying to get it to work than I do actually making music on it. And then I go back to ProTools. After Exporting the chord track in midi.

And Reaper. Just to counter the fanboys. No, really, I have no opinion on Reaper.

I downloaded and reinstalled everything and now i could again choose and move the library to my extern SSD. Strange.

Mac, Windows, Unix...they're all strange in their own ways. Just sucks that they're all so flaky from time to time.

Try not to discount the operator error factor in most cases of all computer related issues.

Required computer literacy is based on technical knowledge, skill and experience:

Where does piano/guitar, vocals, scoring and typical songwriting go? Because that's where most professionals who use DAWS are that I'm aware of. Something like reaper shines in this aspect, and most other daws out there are packed with bloat, bells and whistles that often takes away from the creative process.

Songwriters are the foundation, and the largest segment of the industry, from jingles to AAA licensing. Times have changed a bit, but I'm fairly certain this still is the case.

There are no hard or fast rules, but for the over all consensus of Reaper's community, they tend to own or play guitar, which usually leads to Rock or Metal songs. If they aren't musically proficient, they either mix other people's songs, which could be any genre, or hobby around like everyone else.

But, let's be honest, Reaper isn't the first name that comes up when you are talking about all the currently popular genres, such as EDM, Hip Hop or Pop. That doesn't mean it can't be done, isn't being done, it just means it's no where near the top of the list of choices for most people. So it becomes easily hated by the majority of the music making community.

And that's why Reaper sucks.
