Their own words:

The great sound of vintage tape flanging is now available for your plug-in toolbox. Famously used on David Bowie’s “Ashes to Ashes” and Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time," the Instant Flanger is a versatile tool for stereo sweetening, subtle modulations, double tracking, and extreme flanging effects.

In the tape era, the terms “phasing” and “flanging” were used interchangeably. Then, in 1971, we released the Instant Phaser which was based on analog filters rather than delay. The Instant Flanger, released in 1975, used a true time delay circuit using bucket brigade chips, producing a much deeper effect.

Wow, still regurgitating and updating that old stuff. Hopefully they get round to something interesting at some point 😴

They are updating the (very) old stuff, because back when they coded it they had to make a lot of concessions due to CPU restrictions and hence weren't really satisfied with it anymore (which is they reason why they didn't/don't sell some of them separately until now).
Tony Agnello certainly did not make a secret out of not being satisfied with the Flanger and the Phaser and wanting to redo them.

And there really is a day and night difference. So personally I am very very happy that they do this. Getting them even for free is the icing on the cake. I so love this company, I really do!

The price point (on introduction) is spot on as well, I bought the Phaser - haven't had chance to play with this yet but I like they they all add to the product count to get the full Anthology bundle eventually for a good price...

Everything fine here. Just downloaded the installer files.

I like Flangers more then phasers, i specifically like to sneak flangers on background vocals However I've never heard a flanger I was really to pay over $30 for so I'm thinking about demoing but then again i wasn't really in the market for a flanger.

Think it's the first flanger that's managed to put a really big grin on my face.
