i have the same feeling, for the first time. perhaps an oversight of the possibilities. i have the demo.

by the way do others experience that the loading time of softube modular itself is longer, even with the new version? the version before, has the same problem. it takes so long, that it annoys me. softube has reported to me that it is an issue. but i do not see any posts about it. i am the only one?

But 99$ is a sale price, actual - 149$.

I think I shall pass for the first time also. I think Softube are pricing this far too high given all the modular competition out there now. Will be interesting to see how quickly the first proper sale comes round.

At first I thought you made a joke :hihi:

Need to buy! :D

£3,319.00 on kmraudio.com :dog:

$87.99 at everyplugin.com (these guys tend to always beat everyone on Softube products it seems)
You'll need an account to see the price.

Just as an aside, is anyone else kinda pissed off that Softtube has added another thing that you need to use in order to get the installers (on Mac but soon coming to PC too). First you needed iLok (still do), then Gobbler, now the Softube Installer. How many layers do we need to go thru to actually use our products? And how long until we get the next new 'system' to 'help' us use our products?

I just use it, everything works for me, no problems.

Nice. Didn't notice it earlier. Glad I haven't purchased yet.

This is one of the most interesting Buchla 200e modules in my opinion.
It be used as an 8 band vocoder. Patch the envelope outs for the odd bands to the CV inputs for the even bands, patch the carrier to the even input and the modulator to the odd input, get audio from the even output. Two can be a 16 band vocoder.

When I played with one, I found it a lot of fun to use as a complex modulation generator. The envelope outputs are envelope followers associated with the levels of each frequency band, so if you send a complex/dynamic signal to the inputs, the different bands will send out different CV levels, which can be mixed an processed in interesting ways, using the 256e and the 210e (I'm not sure if Softube modular has an equivalent for those).

Anyway, it definitely requires a pretty large patch to get the most from the 296e.

the softube modular has the 259e. the 256e and 210e have no direct equivalents in SM.

already bought the CA VM core + electro drums, some time ago, via jrrshop, for $71.10.... it was cheaper then... i look at many sites, to get the lowest price. but i don not know all the sites, i guess...

yes, this module compared to VM, is quite expensive. i think that buchla gets some money...

and the competition, is "free", the reaktor ensemble "cloadlab 200t", but that one doesn't include the 296e. that doesn't matter, working with it is slightly more difficult, patching is not that fast..., no cables, but the modules included are great, and the thing sounds great. "free" is big word, you have to own reaktor 6..
