Does Tone2 mention anything about data transfer to a remote server in their terms/conditions ?

Would you as manufacturer spread some uncomfortable truth (in case it exist) outside?

Well, I'd another motive for my question.

I get it as some people say Tone2 do check some data.

That's why I asked. If they do they're legally obligated to inform their customers about it.

They're even obligated to tell you exactly what data.

One can make a forensic examination of one's computer and compare the results with what they say - or don't say.

Perhaps you should clarify what specifically the tpic actually is ? This? "Tone2 Icarus is the most underrated synth in Existence." To me it looks like a declaration or a statement or perhaps a claim. But what does it tell us what is OK to talk about ?
Alright. Can we talk about Tone2 or only about this synthesizer? Explain to me why it's OK to talk about it's sound and look but not it's name? Isn't that person talking about what he claims is an issue with their products including this Icaurs synthesizer ? Sound and look OK. Name and license not OK. Explain to stupid me why that is ?

Probably because it ALWAYS ends up in a very heated argument, and because we already had the same stuff gazllions of times here. You are new, so, i'm sure your inexperience with the topic is forgiven.

Probably because it ALWAYS ends up in a very heated argument, and because we already had the same stuff gazllions of times here. You are new, so, i'm sure your inexperience with the topic is forgiven.

This is pretty much it. In another forum I used to attend, there were two rules. No talking about politics or religion because they always ended up badly.

Probably, the rules here should include "No talking about copy protection" and that would put an end to it. Anybody who breaks the rule gets one warning and then suspension. 3 suspension and permanent ban. I mean there's already a rule in place about talking about something and I won't even mention what it is because we're not supposed to even mention it. And it's rare that it comes up because people know. So really, modify the rules to include copy protection and problem basically solved.

1st...your first words in the thread "they must be idiots" on page 6...if ypu want to go into why the name shouldn't be used that is likely a subject more suited for our hpc forum which more seasoned members understand.

2nd spyware is a serious claim of malicious behavior, when it boils down to a gripe about copy protection what would you like me to do allow inflammatory statements on the basis of a gripe? Also keep in mind that in going on 16 years here I have seen the same group of people hi-jack threads at the very mention of copy protection...trust me there will be another cp thread coming along soon enough and this is not one.

For me, discussions about copy protections equal political discussions. It's definitely a political topic. Unfortunately, the net is all over the place with these, these days. Not only that, every film carries a political message nowadays. It sucks, but, it's how it is.

Copy Protection is an important part of the software. It needs to be a topic able to be discussed. It does get tedious the many right/wrong cul-de-sacs.

Quite a statement considering how many really good synths there are that fly completely under the radar. I would not classify Tone 2 synths as flying under the radar.
