Wait a minute, U-he has not merged or been bought out by NI. This is not even remotely close to what happened with Apple and Camel. Please stop spreading hysteria. And why should Waves do anything?Dasheesh wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 3:50 pm apple/camel, plugin alliance/DS, isotope/EA, NI/U-he. can't wait to see what waves does.
And that does this have to do with instruments?

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Plugin Alliance didnt acquire Dimitry Sches, PA are their distributor. NI didnt acquire U-he, they did a one-off sale on a subset of u-he products.

Except he's lumping it together with the Camel/Apple debacle? Seriously? They're not even remotely comparable. And again, what does this have to do with instruments? This should be under "Everything Else Music Related." And all this thread is going to do is cause more arguments. Wait until you see all the tangents that this goes off to including yet another chance for people to complain about how they can no longer get Alchemy for their PC.Hink wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 3:57 pmwags I think he means the sale that urs did with NI recently, not a mergerwagtunes wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 3:53 pmWait a minute, U-he has not merged or been bought out by NI. The train wreck is coming. This one is like waving a red flag in front of a bull.
Anyway, whatever. I've said my peace and I'm out of here. I have nothing else to contribute to this disaster in the making.

you gonna miss me when i'm gone wags. bored as hell.
i just noticed waves and plugin A are going at each other hard right now. even price competing with the same versions of plugs at the same time. only thing waves hasn't done yet is partner up with another company to drive sales. i would think it would be a studio standard if they were to do so, and i would think it would be something that fits into their analog modeling library. of course it might be better to offer something they don't offer yet... something more modern?

I'm not saying this isn't a topic of discussion. It just doesn't belong here. For one thing, Waves is primarily an FX company (EQ, Comp, etc.) You can count the instruments they sell on two hands. And none of them are all that great. The only one I own is Element and I'm sorry I even got that. Codex I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.Dasheesh wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 4:12 pm you gonna miss me when i'm gone wags. bored as hell.

I can't even see a reason why they'd want to team up with anybody. Waves is so big, trust me, they don't need anyone. I'm sure they are doing fine just as they are selling $300 plugins for $29.
But do we really need to clog up the Instruments forum with this? It's bad enough we have to put up with all the "What's the best synth" threads here even though there is CLEARLY a forum designated for those threads. But of course, nobody listens.
Anyway, whatever.
