The last few weeks ive been making sounds, learning the tools i have , but really in the past ive bought a lot and now I basically have ,synthwise , thor , europa, maia , phonec , and some lovely sampled synths in nnxt sampler thats it really ,and ive learned how to use the stuff i have a bit and now i value it a bit more , i can start to create the songs , this thing of wanting wanting something “it looks shiny” its a f**king trap man , we dont need all this stuff , and ive literally realised good music wont come unless you stop getting excited about the things u dont have , and get excited over the things u do have , consumerism has gone haywire what do u guys think and why , ( sounds like a dating site question

Do they though ? Or do they just have a good marketing program? Like uhe are all re issues of old synths, admittedly they sound good , but its nothing new its all quite old skool ,some sampled patches in nnxt/kontakt sound as good or better , maybe patches are getting more flashier, more louder but i don't think synths are getting better . Its what u do with it i guess

If its really cool and u really need it thats fine , but do you use it a lot or just look at it like a woman looks at the 20th dress she bought?ATS wrote: Sat Apr 06, 2019 2:26 am Yeah I almost wish they would stop making all this cool new stuff...almost.

It's called G.A.S. "Gear Acquisition Syndrome" and we all have it to some degree. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you're missing your car payments......

I think that's the longest sentence I've ever read in my life.
As for buying synths, just don't do it. Problem solved.

lol, i don't know you at all OP, don't know how long you been at this, but i said the same shit when i showed up and now have half a dozen synths, compressors, eq's, delays, reverbs, etc.. etc... etc. and that's after parting ways and installing loads. you won't get comfortable until you get comfortable. you have to do your share of spending and experimenting. software is a whole other animal. it's different!
i'm lucky. i've blown < 1000$ in unnecessary software. some of these guys have spent tens of thousands! thinking that secret weapon... that special plug... will make them better. and sometimes a plug sound has made them famous! lol. its about getting comfortable.
