If it was that simple nobody would care about having a little collection.
Did you play around with various compressors and find nothing different ?
If so than stick to what you have if not then you'll understand why.
A lot can be done with a few versatile ones but even then, it's practical to have one suited for a specific task or sound.

At the beginning I couldn't tell the difference. You have to develop an ear for these things. Now I have a different compressor for each task I want to perform. But that didn't happen overnight.Boone777 wrote: Sat Apr 06, 2019 3:08 pmIf it was that simple nobody would care about having a little collection.

Or you can learn how to make the synths you already own sound better, that's what musicians, engineers and producers are supposed to do.
Don't let yourself be easily impressed by a new batch of presets that will never make it into a full production with all it's effects taking up the entire frequency spectrum.

buying too much too, that I will probably use! hope not in my 70s, some deals though for instruments are like for nothing, never use them. thing is to try and buy only what you really need!

Ok, I definitely won't let myself be easily impressed by a new batch of presets that will never make it into a full production with all it's effects taking up the entire frequency spectrum.rewrite history wrote: Sat Apr 06, 2019 4:17 pmDon't let yourself be easily impressed by a new batch of presets that will never make it into a full production with all it's effects taking up the entire frequency spectrum.
