Controlling Blakus cello dynamics?

Instead of following midi velocity, the Blakus cello's dynamics (legato mode, Bitwig) seem to be doing their own thing, becoming much quieter on the 1st and 3rd and much louder on the 2nd and 4th, the exact opposite of what I want.... Do I need to use the cc wheel?

[Edit: Found the manual in the installation folder... looks like I need to use Dynamics CC instead of velocity.]

[Edit: Okay, I think I've figured it out. This is probably what was happening: "Harsh Sustains With a similarly immediate but STRONG attack, the harsh sustains result from a high velocity performance at the beginning of a new phrase. At this level one can observe a grittier, more primal attack."]
