Sorry I don't know which forum to dump this into...but every fifth or sixth recording "take" I create in my audiobook recording ends up developing a crackling sound, during the take!
I'm guessing I need to fine-tune a setting but don't know which one! :-(
HELP!

thanks!!

moved it for you but left a shadow topic so you could find it :)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I think it's a processor power management issue. That's what it was on my computer with the crackling, but it wasn't every other take. It was like all the time. If you have windows ten:

Go to System Settings > Power and Sleep > Additional Power Settings > Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings > +Processor Power Management >

Now change the value of both Minimum and Maximum Processor State to 100%.

I learned this trick by calling Ableton. It fixed my crackling problem right away. It should be noted though that the battery might not last as long though, so keep the computer plugged in when you work on music! :phones:

The spendy's suggestion is for ANY windows system. Should be night and day ;)

I wonder if anyone else uses Mac OS...
I can't find any info about power settings!

Try posting at the KVR Tracktion forum here. dRowAudio, one of the developers uses a Mac I think.
