I'm thinking Atari ST, Pentium 2, with Cubase 1 etc.
No particular point. Just curious.
It has to be in regular use.
I'm thinking of buying a very old PC and trying to complete a project on it. Just for sh!ts and giggles.
Who has the oldest computer based DAW setup here?

I have a few Ataris (3x 1040 STe's and a 520) but they're not in use. I have the floppy's with all my old tunes on 'em and the dongle for Pro24 ... all boxed up. A couple of monitors too. I used to use them live with a sampler and a couple of synths. Might be interesting to have an Atari set up for jamming.

I still have my Pentium 4 tower PC. Not sure if it still works...haven’t switched on for years...
Also have the very first Dual Core PC laptop, which does work but the battery is dead and its power plug is a bit wobbly so it looses power intermittently . I bought it a month after Dual Core laptops appeared on the market. I remember playing AAS String Studio on it without any drop outs, which the Pentium4 PC couldn’t manage. I almost cried when I found out that could play it on those Dual Cores...

I have a Pentium 2 system running Win98 SE at my office, still works and has a copy of Cubase VST and possibly Emagic Logic. It has a M-Audio Delta 66 and an Omni I/O break out box. I think the computer is a bit older than the audio interface. I think it originally had a MIDIMAN DiO and a Portman.

Most of my time is spent with a MAC G5, with 3 MOTU 2408 cards and Logic 8, still works perfectly! I also have an Amiga 500 with Octamed that I like to play with while having a beer...

Either drooling or dreaming over the next wonder synth or waxing nostalgic over gear of the past. Of course there's those that can't wait for the next newest gear that emulates the past...jeez!

I have a Max 3.06 as 68k code running in Basilisk. Its my old install from my ancient Quadra 900. Gosh, it so much faster than the original...
But that way I can run Max patches which use old 68k externals... Good for software archeology...

2003 PowerBook G4, OSX Tiger/OS9, Running perfectly with an MBOX 2, ProTools LE 7 and Reason 2.
Interestingly, theres an amazing amount of stuff available for it as abandonware as well.
TBH, I don't have much of that (have some games) as I don't really use it. If I do use it,
I'm only interested in Reason and ProTools anyway or Adobe CS and Macromedia Flash,
which are all registered to me.
Perfectly usable though, when I get nostalgic...
*The battery is dead, so I have to leave it plugged in to use it. 17 in screen, aluminum body,
Hybrid OS, both OSX and OS9 Capable, really a nice computer actually, even today.
