3 main music forums. 70% of the chatter is about the price. Get over it. Think it's too expensive, can't afford it, don't buy it. Simple. PA can chose wtf they want to do with their business plan and prices, it's their prerogative as a company. If sales fail as a result of their plugins being overpriced, they'll bare the consequences. I really don't think they care what people think of their prices, they've already assessed that in some business meeting Im sure.

It's pretty annoying lately, i must say. So much crying over something you can so easily avoid by... just not buying the product. But, i guess that wouldn't be much fun, especially when you can't try to pull others into the bottomless abyss of negativity.

I wouldn't say "crying". People are just talking about and/or criticizing their price point, compared to the market reality these days. In music forums. What's so out of place about it?chk071 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:15 pm![]()

It's the lack of acceptance for a companies desires that drives me crazy. Complaining about it won't change PA's viewpoint, them sitting on the verge of bankruptcy perhaps will. They have already considered the numbers game i'm sure, they are not idiots.Sinisterbr wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:26 pmI wouldn't say "crying". The ADS is pita to work with, and it just might be enough of reason for me to avoid this. I tried re-creating a pluck bass preset I had sometime created on Wok's Uncle Sam, and oh boy did it take long time to get it to sound identical on bx_sem.

Let me get this straight! PA didn't even put out a price for bx_oberhausen yet, at least I didn't find any price anywhere, and people are already complaining about the price point?

To be fair there is a price mentioned in the OP here:ATN69 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:36 pm Let me get this straight! PA didn't even put out a price for bx_oberhausen yet, at least I didn't find any price anywhere, and people are already complaining about the price point?

bx_oberhausen is available for purchase — as an AAX Native-, AU-, VST2-, and VST3-supporting Virtual Instrument plugin for MacOS (10.9 through 10.14) and Windows (7 through 10) — exclusively from Brainworx Audio’s US-based sister company/distribution partner Plugin Alliance for an introductory price of $179.00 USD, rising to $249.00 USD thereafter — from here: Brainworx bx_oberhausen - Plugin Alliance
There was also an announcement post on GS, now deleted that I quote a few pages before (or was it on the other thread), that mentioned $149 and I believe $179 or $199.

For a first synth attempt, they landed themselves very possibly above the rest. I am very impressed. I get that same feeling when I nail a super analog sounding patch with Diva, maybe better. If this is a preview of what's to come, I'm vet excited. Perhaps UAD is next.

All though those prices might be correct, I will wait until it comes up at the official PA website. Anything else I would consider to be speculations at this point.zvenx wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:55 pmTo be fair there is a price mentioned in the OP here:ATN69 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:36 pm Let me get this straight! bx_oberhausen can sound exactly like Wok's Uncle Sam, which was made with SynthEdit? That TMT shit must be really good.SiliconDeath wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:32 pm The ADS is pita to work with, and it just might be enough of reason for me to avoid this. I am trying the demo now. It sounds really good. But it started cycling through the presets and I couldn't stop it!

Compared this today to a vintage Oberheim OB-1 (closest I have to a Sem) AND Arturia Sem and to my ears the Arturia is more Musical and "Oberheimish".
I couldn't find anything new or "wow" while playing with this.
I use and love many of their plug ins, but this is not one of them.
