Like I also said earlier.....
Teksonik wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2019 2:22 pm But I guess if someone just has to have that sound then they could justify the purchase.
Hey if you think it's worth the price then by all means knock yourself out.

Just speaking for myself, a developer has about five minutes to impress me with a new synth since I've already got so many others such as in this case DIVA. Bx_Overpricen not only didn't impress me it shocked me at how bad it sounds. That is just my opinion of course and should mean nothing to anyone else. Try the demo and make up your own mind.

I'm not sure how viable a long term strategy is to ignore the competition when releasing any product but I guess if PA can sucker err I mean convince enough people to shell out that kind of money for a synth that sounds like it should be freeware then they are well ahead of the game.

Anyway has anyone had trouble getting it to respond to incoming midi notes from a controller in Reaper ? I can't get it to trigger from my controller although it will respond to mouse clicks on a virtual keyboard. I thought it might be a demo restriction but it does respond in FL Studio.

Anyone thinking of buying it who uses Reaper should check that out before making your decision to see if it happens there as well. If other people can confirm maybe let the developer know.

To me it's a 3D plugin.... Download, Demo, and Delete so I'll move on. Good luck to all..... :tu:

Arturia SEM was (if I remember correctly) often sold for 99€, which IMO is a great offer. A competitor has to deal with it that people think in this price range. If "Brainwash" ehm..." Brainworx" :hihi: asks for a price of about 220€, I think they will sit on a "shelf warmer".

I'm a bit reluctant to demo it because it's NKS compatible. The last time I installed and later uninstalled an NKS compatible plugin, I had to resort to registry editing to stop the NKS presets from showing up in Komplete Kontrol and Maschine.

Demo working fine here in Reaper

I don't see it this drastically, but i'm also wondering for how long they can keep these practices. Especially when now more and more people expect sales in the $30-70 price range and wait for them.
Then again, they are still in the business, seemingly flourishing. So they might know the actual market more than the two of us

I don't trust companies with high regular prices that routinely slash them by by 50 or 90%. I think I'll give this a miss. Didn't blow me away from the youtube vids anyways.

I'll tell you, after the way they handled the release of PA Thorn, I take everything from them with a truckload of salt.
What a joke.

I think it's far superior to Arturia's which I liked but it always sounded a bit dead to me anyway.

BX has definitely come very close to the SEM module (I did own the hardware at one point). I really like the fx, unison and the TMT thingey. But I certainly wouldn't pay e179 (plus lovely EU VAT!) but I will buy it because I have got a heavy hitter voucher.

Their after intro price is a joke... Compare that to DIVA/RePro (which are the state of the art as far as I'm concerned when it comes to analogue).

I also hate all this releasing a demo thing before the synth is out. Yawn... Just get on with it.

IMO, the filter in the BX is ten times better. I always found the Arturia filters pretty lame.

Nobody comments on Hy-Mono as comparison?

Is it a bug or most annoying demo limitation ever? It changes presets every 10-15 seconds?
No, it seems I accidentally have pushed play on right corner.. it seems to switch presets automaticly.

Yeah mate... Very true. Arturia's did'nt really sound anything like the SEM.

They must have accidentally slipped the price in the release note.

With SPL Iron, they had something like four levels of pricing. Regular, public intro, newsletter (?) intro and heavy hitter intro. I remember my intro price was 99 to 329 regular price. And with a monthly voucher i got it for 49. I’m hoping for something similar this time too.

I couldn’t get anything out of AU in Studio One Mac. Vst3 worked fine. Sounds nice, will catch if price is right. I have and like the arturia sem, but not a great fan of arturia and their plugins.

Someone must have sustained a head wound. :drunk:

Anyway if it goes on sale for $9 I might buy it just for grins and giggles......
Serious question , have you ever played a real sem , or own one ?
I guess not , you comment on how bad it sounds clearly proves this
Is it expensive ,yes it is
Is it worth the asking price , you decide
But saying that the brainworx plug sounds like cheap freeware is just ridiculous :tu:
