Edit we can correct it by dropping the rack block module in a regular structure
Seems that we can use the racks blocks in a normal structure , without actualy using the rack itself .
Only difference is the saving system , and we can't colour wires
Confused ?

I'll install and give it a try... it just sounds like additional complexity on an already too complex system... but maybe it will work better for me and I will actually use Blocks now...

Well I guess I'll be dramatic now as well, I'm actually really super confused. The only blocks I have access to now after the update are the Bento Box blocks. Everything else that was previously available in the factory library, e.g. Kodiak and the rest, are just gone. I can't find them anywhere.

Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 5:35 pm You guys know that they haven't removed the regular blocks functionality right? All the old blocks and blocks based ensembles still work, they just have this new system as well which is much simplified if you are someone who wants to patch together a bunch of blocks and not have to save in your host, or to save rack presets. I do hope that the new block format can be made by users as well so that the user library blocks can be converted to this format, and hopefully that's not hard and doesn't cost them money.

where do we access the old blocks from, though? I can load ensembles that contain them, but in Edit Mode > Library > Blocks the only folder that shows up now is "Blocks Base" and the only thing inside there is the Bento stuff and Util. How do I load the other old blocks now, individually? I can't find them anywhere...

The rest of the factory blocks with wires are in the Blocks Primes, which is a separate install right under Blocks Base.

The old blocks ism files are still where they used to be, wherever you installed them. Reaktor Blcok is a separate bunch of ensembles, komplete kontrol presets and instruments and installer in Native Access, those all stay the same, they still load in Komplete Kontrol and Maschine the same etc. Blocks Base and Blocks Prime are the two new installers and folders in your NI product folder with the factory blocks in this new rackable format.

Ohhhh, I didn't install "Blocks Primes"...thanks!

thanks for the help. but I have no idea where the old blocks ism files are, because I only have ever used Native Access to install stuff, which gives zero options on where stuff goes... so when you say "wherever you installed them" that doesn't really mean anything to me....

NA has preferences (click the silhouette button in top right, next to NI logo), in which you have Content path, which is where stuff like Reaktor Player and Kontakt Player libraries get installed. You can change this path before every install if you want to spread things out across multiple hard drives. Otherwise it should all be in your system drive.

Preferences -> File Locations?

Also, all modern operating systems have a global file search. :)

Edit: ED beat me to it! :D

Yeah "Installation Path" I think is what it's called in Native Access. If you move something, you can then go to Native Access and hit repair because it won't know where it is, and assign the new path. Also before you install anything you can change the path for the product and it will remember for the next products.
