+1

Basically every vendor will default to that. Reaper will also point to that location by default on a fresh install.

Then it’s up to you whether or not you want to create a subfolder of your own.

So you could do \VST3\Valhalla DSP\plugin.vst3

Same here. Could be a bug?

OMG.... They saved the best for last with this one.... check out the preset "The Other Side", the last preset. I'd go 100% on the Width knob...(An possibly the Dry/Wet too)

Time to bust out the guitar tonight, load this up into Axiom, and jam out for a bit.

I’m idly wondering if this could be comparable to a Strymon Volante ....

What DAW/OS are you seeing this in? Thanks!

Absolutely - they are very dependent on the chosen Mode.

Very nice delay! But what is with all the noise it generates? I noticed when idle it was triggering my meters. I put 24dB of gain on it and there's a lot of noise. Noise, ok, sometimes, but i'd need to turn that off. I dont see a parameter for the noise. Am I missing something?.... :phones:

The noise is from the release

Now that I've had an hour to noodle on it, I love this thing.

It sounds freakin' fantastic, it's super easy to dial in amazing sounding presets, the different styles are easy to work with (and Ratio is very cool), and I can always dial in the EQ exactly where I want it. It'll give me sounds I don't think I could replicate at all with all my hardware and software -- or if so, it'd be damn difficult, whereas it's easy here.

This is immediately my favorite delay. I'm going to keep Permut8 and ColourCopy in my short list for now (ColourCopy has a different flavor and Permut8 is just freaking weird for other reasons) but Valhalla Delay will be my #1.

I'll put Val up against Ratshack Reverb and see if there's any point in keeping the latter in my list. Echobode and Replika are probably going to be set aside.

As far as hardware goes, this doesn't threaten my Doepfer BBD -- which has no filter or compander, so it's full of noise and demons and is an experimental playground -- but I'm probably gonna sell the Afterneath and MS-70CDR.

Age. It's part of the character of the thing. Also try turning down the highs on the EQ. Or embrace the noise -- this is modeling some very noisy old delays, so it's all on purpose.

It's nowhere near as noisy as my Doepfer :hihi: but I love it.

Different Modes have different levels of noise and the Drive/Age parameters adjust this to a degree; BBD is really noisy because that's the nature of a BBD circuit. Tape is second noisiest. Changing the "Era" control from "Past" through "Future" will also change overall levels of noise in the Modes - many of the controls are highly interactive with others by design. Also, the plugin wouldn't self-oscillate without some noise to excite things.

You obviously haven't tried Sandman Pro if you really believe this....

Cubase 10/Windows 10.
If its not a demo limitation, its a bug.
