Here's the Realitone thread with both Realitone's and WarpIV's take on the library, this isn't WarpIV's primary business so there isn't much need to keep up with market value

What is that supposed to mean, 'this isn't his primary business"? It's one of Dr Steinman's chief products.
I would ascribe market value just like with any library, according to how full it is, and the Realitone is not Screaming Trumpet by WarpIV. I'm stating a fact.

Aha: the real deal isn't "friendly" because "It’s just SIPS, and you have to use the mod wheel or something to access articulations. I’m not exactly sure of the methodology, because I gave up on it."

So, as I figured, it doesn't have the feature of changing the length of dynamic samples. It probably doesn't even have the dynamic samples. Real complicated, 4 ranges of mod wheel for 4 lengths of a swell or what-have-you. Dumbed down is the term I'd use.

Oh, my memory is refreshed. Yeah, the Realitone is one trumpet iirc, the original product has all the mutes, piccolo trumpet, all of this stuff. It lacks the SIPS for CC2 breath controller. It's a very cut-down product.

There's a few options to check out before buying this stuff outright.

That's what I figured. Anyway, I've got $425 saved up towards getting this thing. Another $875 and I can finally afford it.

I'm aware of the options. I'm getting the $1300 package which is the trumpets, trombones, flutes and saxophones.

That was a response to Jan, if you check the link the guy does contracts for the military. If you wanted to trial his stuff first then send him an email?

Also, Mike Greene has some interesting things to say regarding no plunger mute.

I've used it, it's so intelligently crafted it just works, I don't recall if the mutes legato is SIPS simulated or "True Legato" but more than once I loaded the basic patch (no keyswitching) for a solo.

So since Dr Steinman licensed the samples I wouldn't suppose he has a problem with there being this cut-down thing on the market, it doesn't directly compete. Different goalposts. If it's about 150 vs 450 dollars, I would say the Screaming Trumpet Pro is easily giving you 3x more of a library.

WarpIV used to do regular sales up to 50% off which actually wouldn't put it far off the Realitone price if picking up the bundle, sales are now only when he releases an update. @Jan you picked it up for free?

Mike Greene did give his version to me gratis. I was kind of helping him in a thread here basically, and I already have the full.

Yeah, sorry, Dr Steinman's 'primary business' aka day job is warping time for DOD missile systems :scared:
Actually now that I think back, I had bought the available bundle at the time (2009) and he was developing Legendary Trombone and he gave me that one as a bonus.

And yes, he does provide trial versions which time out after a trial period or something, just shoot him an email.
