The midi editing is what kept me away from moving from Muzys: the damn thing seems to have a life of it's own. Mouse wheel? Ah! And once I tried the midi editing and the midi clips pool in Muzys no one can make me use Tracktion. Workflow? Workflow is Muzys "middle name"
and I would never call workflow to anything else. Neverthless, with proper scroll bars and a clips pool I would move to Tracktion right away.
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

This is just from memory...cyberpink wrote:i cannot figure the aux sends
If you create a rack that has an effect, add it to its own track and set the output volume to full. Then add it into a track that you want to send to it as an aux send. Set that output volume to... you know what? I don't remember. There are a few different volume settings for racks. It's really an odd way to do things. Rack filters are a kick in the crotch to "workflow" when you're wanting to do aux sends. Actually, they're a dumb way to handle multi-out VSTs, too. Sure, they're powerful, but they take what should be a very simple task and turn it into rocket science.
Sigh. You want the instrument track to go through the effect rack and not have any of the rack's output come back onto that track. You want the track with the rack to not have any dry output, just wet.
Or something like that.
That depends on what you mean by "filters." Rack filters? VST effects? VST instruments?cyberpink wrote:is there some filters available for mac???
To be fair, having to wade through all the outputs from multi-out VSTs in the hosts that do make multi-out simple is just as much a pain in the ass. All those instances of DR-008 that take up 80% of the mixer in Cubase when I only want to use one stereo out... there's just no winning!

- Scroll bars for what? Navigating the T way is much quicker than scroll bars... unless I'm not sure what you're asking for.jax wrote:Workflow is Muzys "middle name"and I would never call workflow to anything else.]
Obviously Muzys and Computer Muzys are entirely different sequencers, because I couldn't even figure out how to record one simple audio track in CM, whereas I did so in 5 seconds with Tracktion.
Neverthless, with proper scroll bars and a clips pool I would move to Tracktion right away.
- Again, it might just be miscommunication, but I see a clips pool every time I look in the projects window.
Now, I'm not saying that your way of thinking is incorrect-- I'm merely showing that each person's definition of work flow and important features seems to be highly (HIGHLY!) different. I DO actually use loops a lot, and I still find that between the project window and drag'n'drop (not to mention ModuLR's Tackywrapper, which admittedly is third party) I can't imagine the Muzys (I've only used CM, mind) clip list to be more ergonomic at all.

There has been a mass of confusion about this. Mackie does not own Tracktion, Raw Material Software (Jules) does. Mackie distributes Tracktion and gives it a little bit of exposure. It's not 'Mackie's Tracktion' and won't be in the foreseeable future.Ixox wrote: - tracktion is owned by Mackie and the new silent + rare update policy is a pity.

Have any one every made a good use of groove template ?

Mackie doesn't have a strict policy of silence. They've hyped/leaked info about products before release countless times. The truth is nobody "knows" why we aren't hearing much lately, but a fairly logical conclusion is that there just isn't much to say.
Don't take this as me coming down on you. It's been corrected a number of times now, and isn't done to make you feel bad, just to get the correct info out there (especially in a thread like this, where it's people who aren't familiar with T yet)
As to the groove templates, Yes!
vive la T!

I also noticed that Tracktion is distributed with other than mackie products.
When mackie and Jules signed i don't know what paper, the rare updates started as well as the silence.
Jules at this time also announced that some features that were written to be included in the following month in T1 will be in a later T2.
That's why i'm a little bitter with the Mackie story... I think it happened too early.
