Guitar Center is blowing out the $99 Fruity Loops for $50. I was never really interested, but for half price would consider it.

What synths are demos and which are not in Fruity?

great I'll have to pick one up, thanks. Hopefully the GC over here is too.I'm wondering if you upgrade online to the FL studio would that come with the lifetime updates

Post

Should I have put this in the Market Place forum?

Post

yeah im curios if a person buys fruity for 50 do they egt the life time updates?

Post

no, because it's going to be the boxed version, but, lifetime updates are about $30 (maybe $35?) so it's still cheaper in the long run.

I'm not knowledgable, but I'm under the impression that "Fruity Loops" and "FL Studio" are two different products. Lifetime update to "Fruity Loops" will not get you the "FL Studio" goodies.

Only saying what I heard... this doesn't come from a user with any sort of familiarity with the product, but I thought I should mention it so that you can find out for sure by yourself.

I bought FL 3.56 online, and the upgrade to FLS4 was included in the lifetime updates. If it really is FruityLoops (and not FLStudio) that GC is blowing out, you might want to pm JeanMarieCannie to double-check whether purchasing the lifetime updates will upgrade you to 4.52 (and etc).

The $99 FL would ugrade to FLS FruityLoops version. The big difference between this and Producer is the mixer changes and audio recording. It's like $50 to upgrade if you decide you want those features down the road - I bought it, but I don't really use them as I do audio in Sonar.

To answer the other original question, the extra-cost synths are DX10, Wasp, Simsynth, Drumsynth, Soundfont Player, and Sytrus (I think that's it). The versions shipped with FL/FLS are demos. There's still some decent freebies included with FLS, plus whatever VSTI you already have.

Guitar Center is doing a 'blow out' sale in order to sell out all of their existing stock before we release FL Studio v5 (end of year).
Does this mean that you'll be stuck with an 'older' version of FL Studio? No, as you will be allowed to one free update.

If you are interested in Life Time Free Updates (LTFU), you can buy this as an add-on option (you first need to register the serial number of your box version though).
It'll cost you $29 (or $69 if you want to crossgrade to the FL Studio Producer edition at the same time).

For this money, you'll get all future updates for free (if you own FL Studio Fruityloops edition, you get free Fruityloops edition updates. If you own FL Studio Producer edition, you'll get free Producer edition updates).

Please note, that this LTFU option does not include the additional plugins (SimSynth Live, WASP, Sytrus, SoundFont Player, VideoPlayer, DX10, DrumSynth Live, Beatslicer, ...).

Fruityloops - FL Studio???
Last year, we changed our brand name from Fruityloops to FL Studio (various reasons for this).

In order to keep the popular 'Fruityloops' as a part of our brand, we kept is as an edition indicator.
Currently we have:
  • FL Studio Fruityloops edition (online $99 - Box $139)
FL Studio Producer edition (online $149 - Box $209)
Next release, FL Studio v5 will also have a FL Studio XXL edition (price still to be determined).

I haven't seen the promotion of $50 yet, but this must be the FL Studio Fruityloops edition.

Hope this information helped to clearify this situation.

Which Guitar Center is offering this deal (or is it across the board)? Does it appear in any of their sales brochures?

any more info on that one ??? what will be the BIG difference to FLStudio Producer ?????
anly all instruments included (which would leave me happy with producer) or better audio implementation (which would make me wanna upgrade)

wow what a great clarifying post by the Image Line team

the only thing that wasn't completely clear is the FLStudio XXL edition is (i think) the producer edition with all the synths fully functional.

$50 is a great price for fruity edition, esp when one considers the eventual registered access to the Sound Forge sample library

try as I might to move on, I keep coming back to using FLS as a vst for drums. The samples may not be 'real' drums, but they're the perfect level of 'processed' for what I do and it's so easy to do the drum programming and fx and mixing in FLS.

if $50 was a blowout price for dr-008, this is at least equivalent for drum work alone.

FL Studio XXL edition (boxed version) will contain:
  • FL Studio v5 - Producer edition
    Sytrus
    SimSynth Live
    SoundFont Player
    VideoPlayer
    DrumSynth Live
    DX10
    2.7 Gb Sample DVD

$50 for FL is a no brainer. Though I have the studio version, 95% of what I do in FL can be done on the basic version. I prefer using Sonar as my DAW but FL is GREAT at putting together beats.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

The offer should be available in all Guitar Centers (that still have stock).
