Back when I bought Sonic Station, it had to be installed either on drive c or d. At the time this was ok, but now I would like to move the files to an external drive. I have installed the Halion version. Can it be done? If yes, can I just cut and paste the files to the new location, or do I have to install from the original disks?

Thanks for any suggestions.

My recommendation is that you get replacement discs from support@esoundz.com and/or dan@esoundz.com along with the new Sonic Station UFO app (all of this is free for you as a Sonic Station owner). This way you can install it anywhere you want, external drives included.

Thanks, Squids, I already got them. I am installing from these. With the previous disks, it was impossible to make Halion see the instruments (even with the ufo). But the version that came with the disks works fine.

So, can I just cut and paste them to the external drive (I suppose it will be faster) or do I reinstall from the disks? I' d rather use the first option, if possible, because I remember that during the initial installation, I got errors on copying some files, which stopped the istallation, so I had to copy each file separately (don't know why, but the problem seemed to go away when I copied each file individually) which amounts to MANY hours of work.

By the way, let me thank Sonic Reality in public for their excellent service. The first time you sent the replacement disks I never got them (I have lost mail from the States several times before, that is why I am reluctant to order from there by post, and ups costs too much). Anyway, after a month or so, I considered the disksk lost forever and wrote to SR support for a new delivery, charging me., naturally. Guess what? In less than a week, the new disks had arrived :D

Stuff like this adds up, makes a customer return, and even buy stuff that one doen't absolutely need (check thread for Sonic Synth upgrade blues). SR, you are tops!!!!
