Thanks!plexuss wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2019 11:05 pm That sounds great! Love how the playing takes me through different mental loops. Is that Waves Vinyl?![]()
Correct, it'S AR Vinyl - well spotted!
I checked and there's also Hornet AnalogStage on two or three tracks btw.
I think it shows that this super inexpensive amp sim is quite capable of what can be considered one of the holy grails of guitar-amps - convincing clean tube sounds in all their gorgeous, pristine glory. (It can do other stuff too - all rather on the vintage side though.) And it's quite low on the CPU too. So that shows Saverio's potential level of coding craftsmanship quite well, I think (even if I'm not sure each of his plugins is necessarily on the same kind of level.)

Tape has quickly become one of my default plugins. Puchased it on the Easter sale for 50% and that's only 10 euros.jethrobull wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 1:31 pm I purchased the Tape plugin and I really like it. I have absolutely no experience with real tape and just use it for what it is, an effect. I like what it does on my master bus (whatever it is it's doing). The dev seems a really nice guy and is very responsive. For the price, especially when they are on sale (which is every week) they are definitely worth it in my opinion.

OK - I missed the last sale, but luckily there is now a 60% sale and I am not going to miss it
.
There appears to be some overlap in the functions of Track Shaper, Autogain Pro, TrackUtility Mk2 and The Normalizer. Is there one of these that will perform all of the functions of each? I addition, is the Autogain function essentially compression, but allowing you to set the value to a particular RMS or peak level?
Thanks!

BTW TrackShaper, TrackUtility MK2 and TheNormalizer all include our automatic gain staging technology, TheNormalizer is the only one of the bunch that focus exclusively on automatic gain staging, the other two include that algorithm for different purpouses (TrackShaper to make sure the input level is at the right spot for the internal algorithm, TrackUtility simply to help avoid peaks above a certain level)
AutoGain (and AutoGain Pro) is not a compressor, it's a volume automation utility, meant to adjust the volume of the track to keep it at the same level of any given reference (internal or external)

BTW i think GuitarKit weak point is the cabinet emulation, i have some projects to make it better, but haven't found the time yet... (i also want to add a second mic option)jens wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2019 10:58 pm I once was inspired to create a bit of music for a thread here that was about (iIrc) not being able to get good clean Fender-like sounds out of amp-sims... somehow (as per usual actually tbh) I couldn't be bothered to post it - but I'll do that now:
http://data.handmademusic.ch/music/Buffaloes.mp3
All the "amps" used for it are Hornet's Guitar Kit.

TheNormalizer is great for gain matching tracks to loudness. It's made mixing, specifically gain matching, much easier and now the track faders have more value.

It's a secret sale. So if you already have a purchased product you should get an email with a discount code. It's not a site sale.Local Man wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2019 1:56 amI don't see a sale on the site, what am I missing?bharris22 wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 1:08 pm OK - I missed the last sale, but luckily there is now a 60% sale and I am not going to miss it.

I agree and I said as much back when it was released in its original thread... in my opinion especially the effect which moving the mic has on the sound isn't what it would be in the real world.HoRNet wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:46 pm BTW i think GuitarKit weak point is the cabinet emulation, i have some projects to make it better, but haven't found the time yet...
