Hey gang,

Long-time listener, first-time caller etc. I'm looking for a bit of advice about an old format.

Gestrument Pro (on iOS) is a lovely thing. It takes sf2 soundfonts and I'd like to get my own sounds in there.

So far, probably the best/most obvious soundfont-making software that I've found (for Mac) is Polyphone, but I can't get along with it. I thought that it might be easier to make instruments in TAL Sampler, which I get along just fine with, then export as sfz and use Polyphone as a translator, but this hasn't worked out so well either. Things like release times seem to get messed up, and I'm finding the Polyphone interface pretty obstructive, even for basic stuff like tweaking ADSR settings. If you like Polyphone and I'm doing it wrong, I'm very much open to pointers.

Otherwise, is there a more user-friendly option? The Chicken Systems Sampler Tools package looks interesting, but it costs an arm and a leg, and another arm, and 400 dollars. I already have TAL Sampler, Logic, Reason and Ableton and was hoping that I might be covered for making soundfonts, but I don't seem to be.

Thank you :)

Too bad you're on Mac. In Windows, you have Awave Studio, which is great: https://www.fmjsoft.com/awavestudio.html#main

There is an "experimental version" for OS X that you may try, though.

Thanks man, I'll check it out. It's always nice to have more experimental options.

Obrigado Fernando :)
