Yep...it's a bit steep imo. And Ilok protected too.
It sounds really good and it has an "Off" which gives one the opportunity to only use the dirt/saturation of the unit and bypass the echo part. This one is a clever bonus.

I would never buy any plugin over $73... :hihi:

I'm not against pricey plugins when it seems justified to me. But this one...I don't know...it sounds really good but lack flexibility that TE7 or Echoson offer. 99€ (full price) is too steep when you put it against TE7 which benefits from a dev who seems very open to update suggestions, offers a lot of options and is sold at a good price without the Ilok protection.

But the drive sounds really good on Echorec and the Off Mode is a really cool idea.

why did everyone suddenly remember the Echorec? no one cared for the longest time, and suddenly there's like four different emulations coming out.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Wasn't Audiority the first to release? That's what I bought. Then Overloud's came out with dual drums, I am guessing because they missed the first-to-market boat. And now Pulsar's. I've demoed all of them and for me I see no reason to have more than the Audiority one. If I didn't have it already I'd give the Overload one serious consideration but it may come down to price. :phones:

there's also an Echorec in BIAS 2 btw. at least the screenshot in that overly annoying ad looks like an Echorec.

it's like that thing when Sonimus released a "console emulation" and suddenly everyone and their dog had one.

Which one actually sounds like the hardware though ? Surely that's the important factor in buying an emulation of hardware ?

Depends on the person. For me I typically don't care how close an emulation sounds to the hardware - I care how it sounds in general. But that's just me... :tu: :phones:

To me Echoson is the less dirty/noisy/quirky of these three emulations. So maybe T7E and Echorec are closer to the real thing when it comes to the grit and caracter of a hardware unit...although I never heard an original unit.

There was the Echorec from Empty Room Systems first that is real limited (no host/tempo sync). Although Echoboy has a model preset of a "Binsonette"

Im waiting for the boom of Echoplex plugins to happen next, followed by the Telray oil drum echo units. Then maybe that will evolve into Memory Men and DM-2 plugins, then come full circle back to modeling full on digital delays 😆
