Software to sample my VST's

I'd like to start sampling my own drum sounds. I have a few VST's I'd like to use to do this. Is there a simple, lightweight sampler that will let me: a) Record my VST's, b) Allow me to edit the start and end points after I have recorded the sample and c) Export the the sample in .WAV file format.
I need for it to do those three things at the very least. Right now, I'm doing it in Ableton Live and it's cumbersome, I would like something a bit easier as I have lots of sampling I'd like to do.
Pay or free versions, either one is fine. The only time I've ever got into sampling is when I had my Octatrack. It was great for this sort of thing.

It can do that.
You can simply select export to kontakt patch which will export all zones and their names as separate .wav anyway. And you can automate whole process. From single recorded file or multi file all played by virtual keyboard. Just check it.

I use Audacity for this. Audacity will record whatever you're playing thru you're computer so I use it all the time to sample especially since it's a full featured audio editor that can use any vst.

Renoise has a “capture instrument” tool that builds a sampled instrument according to params you set (high & low key, velocity layers, # of keys between samples). From there you can export it to SFZ, with all the samples as WAV.
I haven’t found a way to load SFZ into Ableton yet unfortunately. But other samplers like Kontakt are able to load SFZ patches.

This is the OP's best option by miles.

If you’re using Ableton and only making drum samples, you don’t really need anything else. Just record your drum sounds to Ableton audio clips. Trim the in and out points in the native sample editor. Then you can drag and drop them all into a drum rack and you’re good to go. Or if you want, you can record all the drum sounds into a single clip and convert them to sliced samples in a drum rack with one click.

Can't say this is false. I might need give working inside Ableton to do these types of task a bit more time.If you’re using Ableton and only making drum samples, you don’t really need anything else.
