Reason with the correct equipment for the job is amazing - 43" 4-4-4- chroma display with Reason at 4k makes my Jingles Jangle and my Dangle longer.
Have you tried Vital?

I wouldn't put too much thought behind them.
I find it even more "adorable" when advocates tend to look past the obvious and hang on to the smallest thread of hope. But, we all know the circumstance, because their history speaks for itself.

That's precious. What thread of hope and history would that be? I'll wait... :tu:

To be fair, their requests and the likelihood of them being fulfilled in an eventual update are extremely high. I mean, it's cool you've moved on to greener pastures and all, but don't think that because others still prefer to keep using it and hope for updates to address things they want, that it's unusual. I mean, unless you feel that just because you left that Propellerhead suddenly have a dwindling user base... :?

Whatever DAW you went with - trust me - there are pages in the forums with user requests. Also, are you completely versed in capital investment firms and how they work? Just curious...

Let's just simplify this conversation by me saying, I hope they do address the long list of problems and missing feature requests. Because, I still own my license and would be willing to upgrade if it fits my needs in the future. But, as I see it now, it doesn't appeal to me at all. I still believe they are heading in the right direction, but to celebrate now would be premature for me.

Jace-BeOS wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:32 am I think the OP means something scaled larger, and I agree. I don’t want them to replace the existing designs, just scale them up. If that means they have to recreate the bitmaps from scratch, so be it... just stick to the same design. What I don’t want is flat minimalist fad bullshit as a “new GUI design”.
Agreed. Everything ought to be bigger. But there are some lovely modern (flat) plugs around nowadays, with very clear fonts & graphics. I'm pretty open minded, and I also like the 3D look.

Would you agree that some of the devices look a little stale?
Compare that with some newer Rack Extensions & Europa to see what I mean.
Stale? How do pixels go stale?

I suppose some of the existing design elements could be tidied up or enhanced, but making things “clean” and “modern” by flattening the hell out of them is not an improvement. The flat fad is like bell bottoms and other tasteless 70s things. Dated as soon as the fad is over.

at least the Combinator backdrops can be replaced (maybe this is why they look so ugly by default),

so personally I'm quite happy with the current look (although rack of Reason has still looked like a console from Nostromo especially with the Matrixes)

btw. the video which gives a summary of the possible background of their design decisions was quite interesting

No, that is not correct. Often the reason is that you want a capital injection (to expand). But without having looked at their books, being a highly competent business expert and knowing the market really well, basically every word about it is silly nonsense akin to highly drunken pub talk. People tend to extremely overrate the worth of their own opinion and the scope of their own competence and thus love to argue stuff they don't have the slightest clue about.
Actually you can have a look at their books. All numbers are public. The latest numbers available are from 2017, the number for 2018 will probably show up sometime late july. Anyway the numbers can be found here: https://www.hitta.se/f%C3%B6retagsinfor ... 5565462206 (there are many other places like this that show the numbers for swedish companies)

The profit margin for 2017 was 24.35% (Verdane took over sometime during the year)

The 3 founders of Propellerheads recieved over 100 million SEK and I would dare a guess they are quite happy...

Playing backseat CEO to these daw companies is silly. It's all mostly nonsense. If you talk to the Internet CEO know it all's who apparently mostly operate from their mom's basement, Avid has been going bankrupt for 20 years.

The reality of private business is: You - can - run a private company for decades and have it - the company itself - not make much of a profit at all, while everyone involved is personally getting paid very well, has good benefits, and living well.

Great video! I watched the whole thing and I'm not sorry I did.

24" monitor (1920 x 1080) and my issues are basically with small knobs & text. Even if they didn't make changes to the GUI and just made everything bigger, then it would at least be usable.

But I still maintain that the whole app could use quite some freshening up.
