Acoustic-y sub-O***s thing with my crabbed slide guitar and faked pedal steel/theramin/slidey malarky. Tried to keep the vocal effects simple and just have one track- failed miserably in one part, but it sounded so mawkish I had to leave it in..

I miscounted the *** and was expecting something that sounds like the Osmonds.

Lovely recording.

Only criticism is it's a bit short on pounding kickdrums and synths for my taste.

Methinks you's missin' the Noel solo... surely you need to leave a bit of room for that? Been jamming away to it on the guitar but with the singing everywhere, there's no obvious place for a solo to live right now.

Sounds good apart from that obvious deficiency

Haha, not got the teeth. I can smoke a fag holding it in the big gap between my two front teeth (its a great trick, honest). Donny will never be able to do that.

One is indisputably very British, and therefore always have in the back of one's mind that it's not the done thing far a chap to 'big oneself up'. Plus the flippancy is never far away...

Hmmm, see what you're saying but it's a bit late now, there's so much shite (sheeeiiite?) going on it would be a bastard to change it now.

I have done some other minor stuff (little subtle vocal emphasis bits and brought out the slide guitar a bit more in the mix - same link), but apart from tinkering I'm calling the f**ker done.

It wasn't really a serious suggestion. You don't really go in for fretboard wankery. Which I appreciate, though I'm sure it'd be a riot if you did a full on 7 minute tongues out guitar wibble tune.

Many thanks for the kind words and offer.

Not being ungrateful (I hope!) but being an old git hobbyist with no pretensions of any music 'success' then I prefer to do it all from start to finish - keeps me out of the pub. Plus this song has to sit with others for an 'album' (when I get my arse in gear to write a few more). I'm sure listening to the stuff on your soundcloud page you would do a good job (sounds top notch!) but...every time someone has mixed or mastered something for me I've always in the end preferred the one I've done myself, warts and all..

All that said, I'm interested in what areas you would look at in terms of improvement? As always when you're so close up to something you don't necessarily see the glaringly obvious!
