No. That's not how Komplete works. You get what's in the current version at the time of release. It might be somewhere in Komplete 13, where though, is anyone's guess, particularly now that it's a three (really four, or even five?) tier system.
Do you know if there is a certain time of year that they tend to release Komplete updates?
New versions of Komplete usually release every two years. Next (13) will be in 2020. And that's when Mallet Flux, Super 8, and future products will be included in various variants.

@FapFilter and @Rastkovic

Thanks for your time and suggestions. It was a good and meaningful read, and I should be more wary of that in future.
buy the synth you think is for you after enough demoing, because at first, almost any new thing appears to be teh best thing ev0r.
True.

Thanks, not imminently then, I might pick this up using a $25 voucher in this case. I have plenty other plugins but my main want for this is I just bought Maschine so have been hunting down some good NKS compatible synths. This sounds great for the price :-)

Plus the whole having to use Reaktor player thing doesn’t really come into it with Maschine. Ensembles load up straight from the browser just like any other plugin.

OPinions are like assholes bala bla etc..
But those saying that S8 it sounds like a generic plugin will probably never be able to separate a great sounding plug from a mediocre one .
Super 8 sounds fantastic , just one square osc into the filter and you'll notice it immediately ...this thing moves air .
A lot of detail went into the amp stage as well , it really sounds alive
Well don N.I.

TBH, that's what i thought too, when i read generic.

Read the same about Monark on Gearslutz yesterday, by the way. Maybe NI should rather sell some golden ears. :hihi:

I did try to play with the amp stage as well, but didn't notice anything special, besides the filter character knob. Would you care to share what you did found out?

You know, these "generic" synths are my favorites. Very simple, great sounding, inspiring, straightfoward. TAL-Mod and Oxium comes to mind.
I'm the kind of guy who hates to play complex synths, hahah

I do think S8 fills a hole in the S8 lineup. Think of it as the Pro-53 resurrected and then some, and it’s what NI users were clamoring for, for a good long while after Pro53 stopped being supported.

Plus, if you have Reaktor, it can be a great source of study into the architecture of what makes a simple looking but great sounding synth.

I do wonder about the, “we all have a thousand great plugins” situation, though. It really must be a dilemma for developers. What more could anyone possibly need these days?!

I also separate between my standard synth plugins that i use regularly to make music (that's not many), and synth plugins that i use for inspiration, sound experiments, or for personal pleasure....
Those are good points. I guess I’m of the mind that when I want a simple synth that sounds fantastic, I’ll usually turn to hardware. I guess “simple synth” is subjective, though. Still, I’ve got an analog poly that’s on par with Super 8, and bests it with a few features that are important to me.

But then there’s the inspiration/pleasure category. I’ve been known to buy a plugin just to spend a few days playing with it. I put the expense in the same box I put going out to dinner or a movie. I may get Super 8 just for one of those times when I’ve got some free time and feel like a change of pace. It’s just that Super 8 came out during my birthday budget drop, and I’m deep into a Peak.

I mean the modelling (non linearities ) of the amp stage , I might even buy it just to have a look inside the core strucure
It's not only the filters and osc's that make an emulation sound good .

Sound quality, I'd say. Just like U-he did with Repro 1/5. I eargely wait for the time when "ordinary" soft synths will all have that quality!

That's one hell of an expensive movie, hahah

Can you really open up the core structure? Surely it's locked.
