Hello.
I have a set of KRK RP5 RoKit G3, with the KRK 8S2 sub, which I bought from Thomann 2nd of November 2018. The sound goes from my PC(64bit win 10 pro) by usb through a Focusrite Scarlet Solo.
Yesterday I was having a session in Ableton, and I was literally away from the PC for 5 minutes to let the dog out, and when I came back to the PC there was no sound. I tried restarting Ableton, I tried turning the speakers off and on, I tried restarting the computer, no sound. I switch to my Pc screens in built speaker and I get sound. I don`t think it`s the Scarlet, because I tried recording with my microphone, and sound goes through it seems.
I have no idea what`s going on or how/why this happened. Any idea what`s going on?
EDIT: I ment to post this in the KVR Experts section. Must`ve clicked wrong somewhere. Sorry, it`s early in the morning..

Or maybe it is the soundcard after all, when plug in/out the cables that run from my Scarlet to the speakers, there`s sound coming from the speakers (and when I touch the plugs of the cables there`s a hum)

has there been any recent updates on your machine?
os or software?
do you have other outputs on the scarlett?
mine has two pairs on the rear the 6i6. not sure what the model you have has? but if so try that?
otherwise unplug everything and start from scratch. see if it works then.
do you have another old soundcard you could test the monitors with?

No, there shouldn`t have been any updates. Like I said, I was working on a tune and everything was working like normal, then I went to the front door to let the dog out, I was away just for a few moments, and when I came back to the computer it was silent.
I`ve tried unplugging and restarting everything, but that`s where my technical know-how stops I`m afraid.
No other soundcards to test either, I`m a beginner, and on my first soundcard. Scarlet Solo 2nd gen, the cables goes to my sub -> monitors.
I`ve sent a mail to both KRK and Focusrite asking for help aswell. Really annoying this had to happen on a friday night, probably won`t get an answer until monday, so there`s my weekend wasted.

KRKs shut off after a while of silence. They should wake up again as soon they receive some Audio. (I hate that "feature"). I know that sometimes they do not wake up, even if you move the on/off switch, you have to unplug them from the mains. Try that...

Thanks, but that`s not it.I`ve tried plugging everything in and out several times already, restarting the computer etc.
I`m pretty sure it`s my soundcard that`s just broken down for some reason I could never guess, though it`s just 5-6 months old.
The monitors were not in sleep mode, they`re on right now. As mentioned, I went away from the computer for a few minutes and when I came back the system was silent.
If i plug the monitors in/out of the Scarlet Solo, the speakers make noise, and if I touch the plugs the monitors make that humming noise. There`s no sound if I use headphones either.
I`m just waiting for a reply from Focusrite now. I guess there`s a warranty from Thomann still so I hope I can just send it back to them and they`ll send me a new one.

Since it's obviously not the monitors (no sound in headphones, hum through speakers) maybe change the title?
Also, is it the same for other projects? Sometimes a save can screw a project.

It`s not just sound from my DAW that`s gone. Spotify, Youtube, etc, is silent too.Googly Smythe wrote: Sun May 05, 2019 12:54 pm Since it's obviously not the monitors (no sound in headphones, hum through speakers) maybe change the title?

does it have it's own mixer app?
the scarlet?
if so open that and check if levels are being registered internally.
also check the master out hasn't somehow been muted?

1 more item to go on that ever-lengthening list of trouble-shooting checks.Gink wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 12:38 pm Ok, so it was not the sound card that broke down, it was acctually the USB port on my computer. Tried another USB port and now I got sound.
